Well I did it this morning, not yesterday but who's counting

A Clive Y Piece married to my existing ACT stainless steel manifolds. Embarrassingly noisy result.

I used Solvol Autosol Bluing Remover to bring the manifolds back to silver so that they can heat tint together. It was surprisingly easy to remove the heat tint

Very nice Bob, great job!

These pictures will hopefully be inspirational for others who are contemplating matching their engine compartment to the exterior of their cars wink

Two years ago when I bought mine.

Currently.

There's nothing more satisfying than seeing a sorted engine bay and there's three very nice examples.
Top job boys.

So - fuel was pump not priming when I returned from the MOT station (after it passed of course). Quick PH search revealed a number of likely culprits...

As I have a Carl Baker installed alarm, I discounted the sticky immobiliser issue pretty quickly.

So, no power from the wires onto the fuel pump....

Checked interia switch (no problem), checked the fuses (no problem), checked the clutch of relays in the footwell - found a grey one, disconnected it - then tapped it, reconnected and fuel pump now being primed! Woot!!

Any ideas what the grey BOSCH relay is in the footwell, as I think I may need a new one???

Fibre glassed in new bonnet struts / rods that strengthen the bonnet (looks okish, but will do)

Light cowls and stuff arrives tomorrow from Steve Edwards, so I know what I am doing this weekend... smile

There are two, one in the black socket is for the ecu the other in the blue socket is for the fuel pump.

They are both the same and are not standard relays so make sure you get the correct replacements, otherwise you'll flatten your battery overnight as it will leave the lambda heaters on when the cars is switched off!

New relays are usually brown in colour but not always, just make sure you have the right part number & I'd suggest you replace both & keep the old good one as an emergency spare.

Relay available here Fuel/Ecu Relay

part number : BOSCH 0 332 014 112

Fitted a new fuel pressure regulator.

Once I'm happy that it is all set up correctly I will remove the gauge.

Added a 19mm breather outlet to the nearside rocker cover (had to tap it right in the middle of the 'V' on the cast TVR logo due to lack of room anywhere else frown ). Now has one on each cover siamesed into the separator, which is evacuated by the turbo inlet - we shall see

Topped up the charge cooler circuit (it always settles a half-inch from 'full')

Sussed why the hack daily driver Gooner brakes have been sticking on - nasty corroded piston on front n/s caliper; asked Renault for a spare and seals laugh - 'you need to buy a new caliper sir, and there are none in the country...' (I didn't bother asking the price) - full rebuild kit ordered off flea yesterday, here today, job should be a good un for £20

Just checking the valves with a little fine paste here.
Ive boxed up most of the parts and will be taking the lot to Roland in a week or 2. He has kindly offered to build the engine for me free of labour. Dale has also offered to come along and sort the Megasquirt when it goes onto Rolands dyno.

No rush. If i get it back by Christmas thats fine.

Also looking to take the car to get a full cage fitted.

I got the near side front indicator working, (dodgy connector).
Fixed my interior light, (Where the old ashtray was) which had stopped working.
This entailed removing the door panel and gaining more wall war wounds from the fibreglass.
What a great design the multipin connector is that hangs in the door and lies in the bottom making sure that it gets soaked from the rain water. Nothing but a dodgy earth connection.
Investigating the cause of an oil leak on my trusty Shogun diesel. Turned out to be nothing more than a leaking oil pressure switch, a nice easy fix.

Plus One for you Alun.

Repaired a few minor bits and cleaned my sons KTM Super Duke R.

He has cleared off to Bali leaving me to sell his bike and forward him the cash so that he can live the life of a young guy with no responsibilities. What are dads for?

If anyone is interested it will be on eBay tomorrow night ha ha.
