Hi, just came out of the garage, the radiator had let go couple wks ago then throttle cable snapped, luckily in the garage!
All this a few days before a holiday in Portugal, I know 1st world problems.......
Anyway struggled to fix the cable, pig of a job, now I'm ready to lift rad out ready to exchange it Monday. So far the rad is child's play after the cable.

After finishing the suspension polybush upgrade - no more bangs, knocks or clangs - noticed the engine oil was doing a good job of rust prevention on the chassis.
Sump off, cleaned off the crap cheap silicone sealant and refitted using Fiat's own silicone sealer. Not cheap at £17 a small tube but never had a Fiat sump leak again so fingers crossed for this one.

About to seal my sump...Do you have a supplier, reference, etc., for the Fiat sealer?

Any Fiat dealer - part number 71753861 - and is a 75ml tube. If any problems just ask for the sealant for the sump on an old Punto as most parts people know this very well.

This morning's list:

Changed gearbox oil after running-in rebuilt unit; so out with the cheapo ATF and in with approx. 2.5 litres of Royal Purple Synchromax - should call it Stinkomax; the stuff absolutely honks!

Pulled the inspection bung on the bell-housing and happy to see nothing at all amiss with the concentric slave (still noisier than expected 'though, especially when cold).

Cleaned up Gaz monos and added a couple of clicks of damping each end - very pleased to see they were absolutely mint under the grimy layer of ACF50 they were coated with on installation in Nov (ACF50, not the grime). Great to come across something that does seem to do exactly what it claims for once. Another coating applied by stippling with a paint brush after wrapping the adjusters with self-amalgamating tape.

Installed gutter derived splitter - once I got underneath, I discovered five holes bearing witness to the fact one had been installed before my ownership (presumably factory); really spooky thing is these were all bob-on in alignment with the holes I had pre-drilled in the splitter (which were not exactly evenly spaced along its length), and were all the right size to accept the pop-rivets I used to attach it. Off to buy a lottery ticket :-)

Added some terminal extenders of my own design to allow easier jump starting, and attached the kill switch wire

Fitted a deflector for better aerodynamics in grassy conditions

Now fully happy with my new addition to the front engine, rear wheel drive, stable.

Mine for 300 notes off the bay.

Are you coming to LeMans classic Gary?
Not planned to Mac, sadly (been before and it's a great experience); will be at the 'normal' 24 Hr in a couple of weeks however. It's a standing fixture with a bunch of mates. Really looking forward to it and just hoping the bloody energy dispute doesn't flare up again.
Fingers crossed for you mate.
