So my long reach 14mm spanner arrived along with the Nord Lock washers. Exhaust manifolds done so hopefully this will be the last time I do this.....although I quite like looking up at the engine while lying in the road. rotate

Pistons, rods and crank in place.
Timed the new cam in.
Temporarily fitted one head, pushrods and roller rockers and checked for adequate clearance, all good cloud9

Probably nick a couple of hours this pm and assemble the top end.

Sounds good Peter.
I went ahead and booked 24/8 at Cadwell.
There's a target for you.....
......not that you need one. Just be nice to see your car on the road and track again.

How difficult is this to do Peter? Did you go by some sort of guide on the net first time round?

Not too difficult. You can follow the instructions that come with the cam, (Kent cams supply a good set of instructions).

There are various videos on YouTube as well as various descriptions you can find on Google.

If you have one to do I'm happy to have a chat with you.

Tools required, dial gauge, stand and a large 360° gauge to fit to the crankshaft, (one was supplied free of charge with my camshaft).

Looking good Peter, I knew you were quite handy with a spanner but didn't know you could rebuild and engine. Good work sir.

That's got some lovely goodies in that there engine,
If money was no object would you put throttle bodies on it Peter or are you happy with plenum set up.

Excuse me if you've already mentioned it but what was the cause of the water usage, ( slipped liner ? )

He's a dab hand at these engines Matthew

I once made the foolish error of going To see Peter when I first owned my car, that opened my eyes just a bit! hehe.

I didn't understand Ecu tech but I did get the idea of better advance and retard options etc, the mapping was way behond me at that point but I knew what the future held, best thing I ever did Peter, thanks,

Great picture by the way thumbup

Simon, not got enough rocker shims to do a good job. Will leave it to next tappet check, maybe!

Alun, throttle bodies, of course I would!

To be fair to the triple plenum, it is not far behind ITBs in performance.

Man's cam - LOL You sound like Alex. He was taking this piss out of my 885 cam choice telling me I had bought a little boys cam and not a man's cam.
