Completed putting the engine in the car this morning.
Car started instantly, Ran the cam in and went for a short test drive.
Bit of smoke on the over run, I don't know why as the heads were overhauled by David Knight about 8000 miles ago.
Maybe due to new piston rings bedding in and running mineral oil. Proper test drive tomorrow.

Your car has regularly gassed me on the overrun on track days - depending on the colour of the smoke, it could just be needing a remap?
Unless Peters changed some spec in his engine it shouldn't need a re map Anthony, my understanding is if all the engine characteristics remain the same as before it will be fine, and the Ecu will adjust the mapping to suit subtle changes ( I think ? ) anyway. hopefully it's just chucking out the lubes Peter used assembling. Looks the flipping biz don't it.

Agreed - and I'm doing Cadwell Park on Wednesday after next (24th).
Vaguely hoping I might have company - there's still space available on MSV's website.....
Not pushing Peter, just hoping he might have it run in and mapped by then.
Are you available?
Yeah it's so much more fun when sharing the experience, 24th, granddaughter christening, grandsons birthday 26th, Vaguely hoping I might have company - there's still space available on MSV's website.....

In my dreams I might be there Anthony
Caldwell is so tough, it's time you got a go pro mate, you can re live the moments and take huge lessons from seeing yourself drive.

M248 cam.
Will be visiting Jools for a map tweak this week if all goes to plan.
Keeping everything crossed for you, I'm sure we all hope for the best figures possible. Will be visiting Jools for a map tweak this week if all goes to plan.
As we were all talking about big heads on another thread it will make for interesting reading to see what the cam does.
Great stuff, a new Dyno graph to dissect

The truth is you have days where you can't do much, Solvol and a rag, all those hard to get to bits, buffed up, mine seem to stay failrly clean for months before they need a buff.
Goodluck
Took your advice and stopped unbolting stuff out of boredom and got to polishing instead, took more than solvol though. This was after sanding and the first compound, will finish it off next time I'm at a loose end...Goodluck
Before..
After...

Just look at the difference already,
I replaced hose clips and stuff just cos it's cheap and satisfying to look at later, a bolt kit is good but unless there stainless they soon look old though!
I'll enjoy watching your slow progress, it will look far better than it does now, enjoy.
Not strictly in the garage...just outside it...
So was out in in Ron on Sunday as it was "National Drive Your TVR Day" So me and Will went over to see my parents....then when for a hoon through the Surrey countryside.
Came back and little man had his lunch and when he went for his nap I went out gave Ron a quick wash and wax.
Jay from Bouncers was kind enought to send a present to Ron (see below) so I thought I would try them out.
I gave Ron a quick wipe down with the Done & Dusted after the wash...was really nice and lifted the few bug splats that I missed with the wash with ease. He then got a coat of the Capture the Rapture Wax....oh my days what a gloss!
Non sunny shots:
Full sun shots:
Gave the wheels a wipe down then a coat of Looking Sweet Wheel Wax and dressed the tyres with Dress to Impress:
No photos but gave the screen a coat of Drop & Roll too.
Over all using these Bouncers products really was a dream...no smears easy on easy off and my christ what a finish they leave...Jay really does produce some epic-ly good products which have to be by far the easiest on the market to use.

That's stunning Does one detect a light application of mascara on the old tyre walls too
Why thank you and yes the tyres are dressed you cant not dress the tyres when detailing a car....Still recon I could get some more gloss into the finish though Plans over the winter to fully detail the hell out of the engine bay and interior too.
Too many dozy drivers getting in my way these days, especially taxis so removed the front grille to change the horn and decided to give it some coats of satin black to give a meaner look.
Disconnected both original horns and then fitted a little compressor and big trumpet.
150 decibels should do nicely......
