After 5 weeks of manly grafting in foreign parts I finally got home late Thursday night then yesterday morning fired up the Golf (MOT ran out last month but is started first turn of the key) and moved it out of the way so I could open the garage door, climbed over stuff (lawn mower, strimmer, wheelbarrow etc etc) to find a completely dead beastie. Like nothing... Used special magic trick to open doors, and put battery on trickle for two hours, and beastie fired up like she always does biggrin Gave her a few healthy blips to let the neighbours know I was back then gave her a bit more trickle smile

SORNed her at the end of July (was away for much of August then pretty much all of September), so now it's the 1st October I'm about to tax the old girl and then take her out for some well deserved fresh air smile

I'm actually quite excited biggrin

Good idea Iain but I have family coming to stay tonight and it's three hours plus from here to Chatsworth so unless they leave really early tomorrow morning (very unlikely) I wouldn't get there until probably near 2 o'clock.... and it's forecast heavy rain here from 15:00 onwards so would be a dismal drive back... And, er, there's a Grand Prix on the box, the pub opens at 12:00, there's a new barmaid in the local with massive hooters (I think she likes me), and, umm, probably lots of other reasons. Had the forecast been sunny and the sprogs not coming to stay I would of course got up at the appropriate early hour in the morning removed roof and set off smile Honest... And I do need to get out more scratchchin

Finally fitted all the parts for my 280mm rear brake conversion. Used scrapyard parts to trial fit everything and with some minor adjustments it all works perfectly.smile
Going to pick up some Pagid calipers from Euro Car Parts later then I'll paint them so I can fit it all tomorrow (hopefully).
