Made up a couple of headlamp fly leads and unwrapped my new stainless manifolds.

Will offer them up to check fitment then off for ceramic coating.

Looks like the weather is going to hinder my grp work. So I'll crack on with refurbing the small odds and ends of trim.

At some point I need to strip out the centre console to change the handbrake cable.

whilst carrying out my chassis refurb thought I would change camshaft to a stealth , then I found out I had been driving around last 3 years with damaged. Cam follower bore new block needed , rebuild just got a whole load more expensive . Better start being nice to missus

I have never seen that before! Any idea what caused it?

That looks like a liner, would it be possible to replace just the liner?

I have spoke to ray at v8D and he is also not sure what has caused it , engine did have a very small tap hardly audible about 2000. Rpm which I thought was down to cam , it looks like a liner but is actually part of casting , so am going to opt for a top hat linered block as plan to keep car after investing far to much into it . The engine has been apart previously so suspect damage was done then , I could of rebuilt it and took a chance but then it would always be in my mind even though it has been running around like that for 3 years

Definitely not a liner, never seen this much damage before either eek anything is possible however this was something I was working on last year fitted inserts but this method may not to be cost effective or suitable but then a replacement block wont be cheap either OUCH! how many lifter bores are damaged?

Only the one damaged bore but have bit the bullet and been to see V8D and sorted a new top hat linered block and dropped parts there for a short block build so shouldn't have any issues in near future hopefully , I did look into getting a possible sleeve / insert but with oilway previous damage and because of fitting new cam kit thought I would spend extra as would always be on my mind .

V8 Dev is on the borders of swampy country, you will be telling us next that you took a wrong turning and found yourself in Wisbechistan next, that's an experience, just look at Boston your in foreign country territory there smile

Indeed it is easy to walk through Boston and not hear a word of English spoken. Most of the shops south of the bridge in Town as Baltic. Luckily we do not go to Boston often as the traffic and getting through it is a right mare.

I lived 5 miles from Wisbechistan when I first got my Chimaera.
It's not actually a bad place - the Eastern Europeans only seem to murder each other, not the locals.
I now pass close to Gosberton (V8D) on the A17, each time I go to have the car serviced in Drownham Market.

I may be leaving my car with them soon.

How does one get back, or to them, without a car ? Long way from a station by the looks of it !
