I lived 5 miles from Wisbechistan when I first got my Chimaera.
It's not actually a bad place - the Eastern Europeans only seem to murder each other, not the locals.
I now pass close to Gosberton (V8D) on the A17, each time I go to have the car serviced in Drownham Market.

I may be leaving my car with them soon.

How does one get back, or to them, without a car ? Long way from a station by the looks of it !
It is very rural - sort of just beyond the back door to the rear entry of the waste disposal chute for the back of beyond.

A few days before - PM me, so that I know when you are planning on going there and we can sort out a mutually convenient time/day.
I can then collect you and drop you off either at Downham Market (Kings Lynn/Cambridge/Kings Cross line) if I am on my way to see a client, or Mat Smith re my own car, or at Newark Northgate (East Coast main line, 75 minutes to Kings Cross). I live near the latter, the car currently lives near the former.

I am freelance, work from home about 3-4 days a week, so a nice country drive and a chance to talk cars with someone (who knows more than where the key goes) is a pleasure.

Took the old girl for her MOT today (the car that is) and she passed woohoo Managed to get the headlamps adjusted correctly with the tester raising and lowering the car until we were both happy. After fitting my front and rear brake upgrades last year, wanted to see how they performed. They're perfect said the tester and when asked about the normally hopeless handbrake, he said it was very good thumbup
Nice one.
I find it funny when a normal mechanic with the usual prejudices can't find fault with it, proper confused look. hehe
When my mate passed mine last year you could tell he fell for it smile
Great stuff Iain, if like me you feel like a couped up cat and can't wait for some open roads to let her breath then it looks like your good to go mate. thumbup
I wish frown Weather's still not good for now. Going to fit new front wheel bearings next as I did the rears last year so that will give me something to do. Planning on a holiday to the Isle of Lewis in May so must get all the little jobs done.
Cheers beer

If you are going via Skye and taking the Calmac ferry from Uig, the Uig Hotel gets a warm recommendation from me - lovely rooms, friendly bar, good restaurant, dog friendly, not expensive, and within sight of the ferry terminal, but not close enough to hear it!

Had a good couple of days getting things back together,
The final colour scheme will be black and silver but I need to get some new silicone hoses made up so might just use what I have this year and get some miles on it.

Remove the vixens tires and prepped the wheels ready for re-Ferb.

Today, going to spend it entirely on the chim.
Fitting the AFR gauge in the dashboard, bit of wiring, hopefully find a place to mount the clutch servo, clean the engine bay up and refix the last of the carpets after the sound and heat insulation.

What a very generous offer, thank you. I shall be in touch !

(funnily enough I do seem to regularly poke the key in the rubber surround instead of the lock)
