Thats a crock of st mate, have you had your neck looked at as you probably have whiplash and may need a bit of physio. I know its a pisser but van can be replaced, could of been a lot worse
Sorry to hear about this incident and hope you not in too much discomfort. Get that neck checked out or you will have problems for years to come................................ even then you may still have. The cold especailly effect it as I know only too well.
Thanks for the advice chaps. Had only just come out of the doc's too paperbag Insurance company on the ball. Hire van arrived within 5 hours delivered from Manchester. Claim forms all completed with claim handler and solicitor by 5pm. Van being inspected in the morning so fast service all round.
Will wait a while to see how the neck develops.
But there is good news. I put a cheeky low offer on a house which was rejected a bit back. Got a call at 6 o'clock to say it had now been accepted. woohoo

When I have a pain in the neck, I do find that getting some serious lubrication down it helps.....whistle

While joking may be good at times whiplash is no laughing matter and can seriously effect the injured for the rest of their life. Have been suffering with the damage it caused for over 20 years now and it's no joke. Oddly enough it was a White van man that caused it rammed me and the car into the one in front. Sadly insurance companies do not want too know about long term suffering only the short term and get the claim settled so watch out for this.

Thanks Chilli. (I think the symptoms could be eased by a drive of your AM.......hehe)

Wont be rushing with any claim as my current drug causes bone hardening and joint pain so we'll wait and see.

Just before Christmas the Chimaera suffered a coolant leak from one of the heater hoses where it joins the pipes that go along the right hand rocker cover. Whilst repairing said leak, we found that the original steel pipes were badly corroded so, since then I bought a new set of the heater pipes that go down the right hand side of the engine, new heater hose and new heater matrix pipes that sit under the heater box in the passenger footwell.
Both the pipe sets are in stainless steel and were purchased from ACT.
Here they are installed:

Today, I bought one of these (I know, some say fools and their money are easily parted):

and did a pressure test prior to filling and bleeding the coolant.

As you can see in just short of 2 hours it had not lost any pressure.
When I first pressurised the system I found a leak that I didn't know I had at the connection from the top hose from the thermostat housing to the swirl pot at the swirl pot end, so that's an extra result.

Tomorrow I will refill and bleed the coolant. biggrin

Absolutely nothing on the Chimaera.

But, I had a good fiddle with the Vixen.

Received my four rear re-valved dampers from Avo.
I fitted the springs and then fitted them to the car setting the damping to minimal.

I've picked up my refurbished wheels from Spit and Polish in Kent who did a wonderful job at a very reasonable price. They even fitted the tyres F0C.

I then fitted the wheels and spent about an hour and a half grovelling under the car setting up the spring seats to adjust the suspension to set the car on an even keel.

I finished the afternoon with a quick wash and a test drive, much better suspension and my teeth are still firmly embedded in my gums!

Just checked my border collie in the rear suspension area - looks like you've got the mutt's nuts there, Peter, though I don't remember you removing them from the mutt. hehe
