That is titanium wrap but has done a few thousand miles.

Alex's car is still on the go and nearing completion.

He has had a lot of back problems since his accident.

Strangely enough, it was that colour when I first put it on. And yes it was from eBay, ha ha!

Where would I get the good stuff from?

Looks like standard exhaust wrap if it what's white to start with. There are two types of so called titanium wrap one looks like hessian webbing is dull and has a square weave. the other has a shine and a diagonal weave, which is the one you want

I am pretty certain that from memory, mine is the square weave.

Obviously the new non-titanium titanium.

Exactly the same happened to mu wraps. I'm going to use some thermotec black spray to coat the wrap. I used it when I did the Cerb and it's still going strong years later ( the guy who bought it off me confirms).
But then I did bed in a new cam and things got pretty hot on forst fire

What engine speed / length of time did you have the engine running to get the exhaust that hot!! eekyikes

2k revs for 20 mins, raising to 4k a few times on and off. All instructed by Kent cams for bedding in the new cam.
It went through that cherry red cycle for about 10 mins and then it faded out. It was a few degrees out but I've borrowed a timing light since and it's spot on 10 degrees BTDC and purring. Or should I say growling.

I've often found the sharp edge on the door pocket to be painful to my elbow on long cruises. Hopefully now a thing of the past

Now to make one for the passenger door

It's just a chunk of pine shaped to fit tightly then stained with black wood dye. The cushioning is two bits of an old camping sleep mat. It needs to be quite dense, the mat is denser than normal foam
