I'm still kicking myself about it. Trying to decide if I would have prefered it to hit the windscreen, but then it may have bounced off of that onto the wing and I would have damaged two things with my idiocy. Wonder how high it flew, there's a strip light unprotected right above the car hehe
I have long been convinced that all TVRs were designed by a gorilla. scratchchin

We could make a contest out of it. Everyone have a go and whoever gets it the highest wins one of those wing protector mats hehe

I had no idea ACT did the ones for the footwell. I will get myself a set of those, mine are very corroded.
Just be aware that, on mine, I had to make up a bracket to pick up the original fixing point on the heater box.

So £160 later and it's not a straight swap?

Many thanks for the heads up. That rusty pipe has been bugging me for years so I am glad I stumbled upon your post. Shame no one will see it once the cover is in place.

Are you sure they are corroded, I thought mine were too, until close inspection, confirmed it was old carpet glue that had been baked onto the pipes for many years, making it look like rust

I had to extend the fixing tab that picks up on the heater box.

I'm not saying others will need to do this, just that I had to. Other than this bracket, it was indeed a straight swap. smile

I am trying to lift the plenum off, but I can't seen to get the d*** thing off! furious
I have bent the metal lip as far as I dare. It now seems to hit the black plastic faring under the metal lip.
Any tips anyone?

Ah, that... BTDT

You can pull the plenum forward (in the direction of the front of the car) an inch or so before you hit the trumpets, that should give you just about enough clearance to lift the thing off.

I need to replace the wiper grille btw, I've bent it upwards one too many times... The thing is pop riveted just under the windscreen. rolleyes

Drill out the rivets on either side of the mesh where it fastens to the inner wings. This will allow the mesh to lift without bending. I put self tappers in place of the rivets so that this job would be easier in the future

Paul and I tried to sort out Tamy's non-running.

Got her started but without the power steering connected.

Certainly a worth while exercise but disappointed we couldn't fix the issue.
