What did you do in the garage yesterday?
Discussion
Well, after having the car off the road for about 4 1/2 months today it actually moved and did about 50 miles test run!
Totally rebuilt the engine, new rings, bearings, new block, new H404 cam, and a handfull of other new things.
Gearbox totally rebuilt by competition gearboxes.
Stripped out the interior and lined it all with sound and heat proof insulation.
Renewed the engine bay insullation and fitted a pair of QD Bonnet hinges.
Strangely it wouldn't start. Checked all the usual and concluded that I have a spark but no fuel.
Swapped all the relays around on the mega squirt relay block and it started. Swapped them back to their original position and it still ran. So what was all that about?
All seems to be running well but I will need a bit of map tweaking and running in for a while.

Yes the block have a crack behind the liner but I had that repaired. I had the option of buying a new block from a friend so I use that.
I wasn't getting the performance out of the M248 camshaft as I had been given the wrong LCA for setting up.
I took the opportunity of fitting the H404 for reduced future maintenance.
C'est la vie.

I want to learn from the best what do you think you will sacrifice in top en hp from going to the hydraulic? Does it really matter on the 5.5?I wasn't getting the performance out of the M248 camshaft as I had been given the wrong LCA for setting up.

Nothing. This is the graph of my 5.5, with the H404 camshaft when I first had the car and fitted the stage four heads.Power was at a higher RPM..

The torque curve, you have 350 ft and 2500 revs that's me at 4000 Power was at a higher RPM..
Oh my days, I read that wrong that's 350 at 1600 revs. !!! Not slow is it
