I would remove your wedding ring also, especially using any power tools that are rotating at high speed, or your finger may get wrenched right out of its socket.

After many hrs and some grazes and a lot of swearing, driver's window will now go up and down under it's own steam. Even only on battery power! Second hand motor from a TX1 taxi did the job. So pleased with myself I filmed it. whistle
Takes 4s to go down but 7s to go up. Even when new that was standard apparently. If the glass wasn't so curved...

I didn't cut myself as badly as above but when I was pushing the rubber back into the window guides and slipped, I discovered just how sharp fiberglass can be. Ouch on my arm. Took a few days to heal.

Passenger side next..... frown

= Old wives' tale from the dusty annals of the H&S over cautious brigade.rolleyes

Besides, most of us would rather run that 'risk' than the surety of having our bocensoredks wrenched out of their sockets for forgetting to put it back on before returning home... ever again. argue

Aye. Tis but a scratch!
Healing well. Ran it into the edge of a brake dirt shield whilst gripping and rotating a disc...wobble ...there are possibly less painful ways to remove a fingernail.

Very nice Neil.

I see you have adapted one of the Lanes bars. How and where are you going to fit the front plates on the forward facing diagonals?

Hi Peter,

Its Dereks old TR Lane bar, but I thought it could be improved / strengthened more.

The plates bolt to the chassis outrigger triangles where the body bolts through.

Should strengthen the car up smile

Have you also added flat steel inserts between the outriggers and the centre sections of the chassis? I mean so that you can bolt the seats to something strong, not just through the fibreglass? When Str8Six North (Willow as we used to know them) build a new chassis, or refurbish one, they insert some steel for this purpose.

Here's what Mat Smith did on my car - the rear bolts go through this strip, the fronts through the chassis corner plates, as that is (fortunately) where my Tuscan seats need to be bolted. The chassis has been shot blasted and painted since this photo was taken.

How did you get on with my old chassis? Was it useful for fabricating your bmw diff upgrade?
