Mk44 1QT Will get you very close to the entrance to the venue. It's at the south west corner of the airfield complex, if you are looking at Google Maps satellite version. Put Thurleigh into Google Maps. The entrance to the airfield is between Thurleigh and the A6, on a sweeping left hander.

Great day had by all who were still running the whole day.

A few minor running repairs for some........but better than the silver GT3 Porsche (ex Griff owner). Blown engine ended his day.

Some of us blagged a ride in the other GT3 ( also a serial ex TVR owner)......That thing was fast, and soooo planted. I actually felt the six-point harness was necessary, not just cool.

Sounds like a good day! My health unfortunately has played havoc with me yet again so didn't make it to have a watch and bring the camera, any videos from the day?

Great day out apart from my minor problem think I will need a few more visits to get the hang of that track.

There were a couple of GoPros so maybe......

Another cracking day, the weather stayed fine and apart from a couple of TVR problems, ahem, the day went really well.

My 55 didn't miss a beat and the new Nitrons seemed to perform faultlessly. More importantly, the increased size baffled sump allowed a healthy oil pressure to be maintained during the max G bends.

The only downside was, (and that is if it is a downside!) my oil temperature rose on the pm laps when it was warmer to a max of 118 degrees.

I need to investigate?

I gave a few rides to Trev, Matt, Ian and Alex which was fun and I hope that that has opened their eyes to what good tyres and suspension set up can achieve.

The white GT3 was something else wasn't it? We were evenly matched for performance but those millions spent in R&D really pay off in the handling department, it was a joy to follow and wonder how if clung to the track bow

I'm glad you got back ok Trev, thoughts of your "hand throttle" made me smile on the journey back!

We'll arrange another one soon. Maybe there are some who haven't tried a TD and would like to try a novice day, we did one a couple of years ago and it worked well.

Gave my nephew Simon a day to remember!

Apart from passengering with me and driving my car around the track for four sessions, he managed passenger laps in a Caterham, the GT3, and with one of you guys.

I had a good day too, really connected with my car, and while I am now a fraction slower than Peter (proper service restored there) I felt my car acquitted itself pretty well. I even managed to outgun a few Caterhams for once! Car never missed a beat......until it ran out of fuel while passing a truck on the A1 on the way home, while showing 10+ litres on the fuel gauge.

I should be up for the next, noise dependant, giving it a shake down at Curborough on the 22nd after its lay up over the winter, I would live to see how it compares to some other Chims as mine is kind of thrown together but seems to handle pretty well on track.

Well, hopefully in the middle of the track, not the curb, but yes, at the sprint track.
