And one or two of the local webbed finger brigade might just be tempted away from their loved ones for a bit of fun.

Come on then guys when is the next one? biggrin

The car will definitely be ready in June so I want to get a Bedford trackday in before the scandinavia trip in July!

The TVRCC track day is on June 2nd at Cadwell Park - that's my next one.

Peter has his thinking cap on about another one at the end of June. Not sure which track he has in mind.
Shame Cadwell is quite a way from me, I am only 20 minutes from Bedford so am aiming for there for my first trackday of the year (also the massive run-offs might be handy hehe)

I did a quick scan of dates for Snetterton + Bedford, stayed clear of weekend dates.

Snetterton (MSVC)
  • Wednesday 21st May - Full Day 300 circuit
  • Wednesday 4th June - Full Day 300 circuit
  • Monday 23rd June - 200 circuit - special Burton Power Day
Bedford Autodrome (Javelin)
  • Monday 19th May - £149
  • Monday 2nd June - £149
  • Monday 30th June - £199
Looking at the MSV website I think i will be booking the 23rd June at Bedford, £159 open pitlane thumbup

Bedford is a very good track for a novice, very little to hit and good runoffs. Also a nice mix of slow and fast corners, and some good straights to give the car and driver a chance to relax.....

Having said which, I managed to forget to brake on the main straight before the chicane (I was seeing how fast i could go and was watching the speedo! 136 mph) and was very grateful for the well mown smooth grass in a straight on direction. I opted for that rather than ultra-hard braking, with the inherent risk of heading for the one of the few pieces of armco on the whole track. Nice to know that I could do that in the safe knowledge it wasn't a ploughed field or whatever.

And I have seen an over-excited Exige manage at least 200 yards of grass-borne spin on a different track day with similar good results. Right in front of the pits. hehe

Suggestion - get your car noise tested before you book. You are decatted, i see, and Bedford is one of the lower noise limits.

I was 105.8 dB on arrival on Tuesday, got it down to 103dB with my bolt on cans, but was only allowed on because they were having weather issues that day and would have had to exclude about half the field. I didn't trip the drive-by meters.

Either spot when they have a track day on and pop over and ask to be tested (phone first if you like, but they are usually willing to help)
Or get an iphone app and test it yourself.
I use Decibel 10th.
Hold the phone half a metre up and out from the exhaust pipe, rev to 4500 rpm and see what you get.
