Whilst checking the Chim over after finding my knackered wheel bearing I've also found one of my front Imola's is badly buckled but for some reason you can't feel it through the steering wheel even though its wobbling all over! So took it to an alloy wheel repair place today and it turns out its buckled on the inside and outside edge so they can't straighten it, which means I now need to find a new wheelmad

There are places that can straighten really badly buckled wheels, but probably cheaper to pick up a replacement.

Shame I've already got a 15" Imola or I'd be after you for it for my wheel collection! biggrin

Well I bought the brand new ebay one but it turned out to be an old wheel re-painted and was actually buckled worse than my original, luckily the seller was really good about it as he hadn't realised and was given it with his old Chim as new. I have taken my old wheel to 2 different repair places now and one said they can't do anything as there's a slight twist in the outer face, the second said they could improve it and once they straighten the inside it may bring the outside back inline but they'd probably have to put loads of heat in the outer face meaning it would need re-painting anyway. So still looking for a decent replacement but so far 15in imola's seem to buckle easily and its obviously hard to check when buying one without bolting it to a hub or wheel balancer and spinning it.

I've got a full set here that I need to get rid of (£150 the lot anyone) but I'm in Essex, posting one would be a mission for me because of the hours that I work, guessing it wouldn't be cheap either. Know anyone coming down to Essex for an Easter egg hunt? hehe

Off tomorrow so will have a chance to check mine.

Don't feel obliged Mike if there is a set available in better condition, closer etc. thumbup
