Ok, just bought my new chim about 4 weeks ago (small accident in the first one led to a very sad ending - yes, almost cried)

Anyways, the new Trev came with racing red adjustable suspension all round and have to say she was far too stiff! Just spent this evenings sun enjoying softening the ride back to 'almost' how my old car used to ride on standard bilsteins. The excessive shunting has stopped at slow speeds, and the ride is so much more comfortable and stable at speed...... but... a big but.... still not as pleasant as the old factory set car, and still no where near as stable as the old trev at 1** ahem mph!

Whats your experience on this? Do you prefer adjustable, or factory? Do you have any advice on setting the girls up for stability at speed?

What weight springs are fitted?

Setting up also takes a little knowledge and patience.

I know when I went from old Billies to new Pro-Techs some years ago, the advantage was very noticable.

Before you get too involved, have you had a geo? Car needs to be set at correct ride height, most are too low.

At least you have a base of what to expect if you've had a Chim before.

My Chim is much better on (new) adjustable suspension as opposed to the (old) billies and stability is fine. I was going down the M4 today at 90 (km/h ish!) from Gloucestershire to Lomdon this morning and it was just a finger needed to hold the wheel whilst the car tracked dead straight.

Good luck.

Plus 1 for a full geo (computerised four wheel alignment). Your new car is probably well out of alignment. Mine was when I first got it from the dealer. Geo totally transformed it

PS take it to an experienced TVR person, not Quack Fat.
