Yes it was 12.66 (the 13 second was the other car!)

This was first run on those tyres and I backed off halfway up the track as the side wobble you get from them was pretty unnerving the first time out! Plus the track was not 100% dry..

So all told next time I am hoping for 12 second flat with those tyres.
You can't aim for 12 seconds flatnono....... It has to be 11.999.....then you can say its an 11 second car.....much more kudos than a 12 second carsmile

I did it in 12.45 with standard road tyres . ,now my car has been mapped and the Emerald install ,more bhp and Torque and a better power curve I think maybe 12.3 could be achievable .

Not bad for a NA 5l old motor with soft springs . .cool

Get a dog box in there to get the changes down, that'll get you an 11. The exhaust noise will drown out the whine, probably hehe

The T5 can be manhandled to change gear in the blink of an eye with practice wink

A simple kit with the smallest of jets would see you in the 11's Daz.
Is Mac selling his kit with the direct port inlet manifold?

Fitting isnt too bad Daz. Sure you could 'plumb' it in with some instruction

Firstly this was my first run out after taking delivery of the car - Brands is not a place to muck about if you are not 100% confident, second I was taking out a random who wanted to experience a TVR - so was taking it easy. It was also before we had even had it rolling roaded properly - and before it had the larger pulley put on.

Just to remind everyone it is 360BHP (390BHP if I was on Surrey rolling road tongue out ) and 380lbs of torque.

A better video of track day run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9f5jk2DT4w

Or run @ Santa Pod - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuDzmInPzb8
As the topic of the thread say's " 570bhp Really " I have seen the car in the at the local TVR meet and its very well done and a one off car. However, You should have saved your dad all the bother an bought a Cerbera. They make around 380bhp from the factory. Better looking too.

I debated getting a Cerbera but decided as I didn't have a toupee that might get blown off and didn't need a rear seat for transporting midgets I would be safe in opting for a Chimaera.

The 4.2 cerb doesn't make anywhere near 380, not sure about the 4.5.

engineers low mileage cerb couldn't match the "good" chims for speed on the track.

Yeah that's right, Cerb girl biggrin

We eat 4.5's for breakfast, and 911 turbo's for brunch.

Isn't that right guys?

A good 4.2 is about 350bhp, a good 4.5 is 380bhp with a remap they would make 370bhp to 400bhp respectively.
Never had any trouble passing a chimp on a track in the Cerb or my 306 pug for that matter. About equal up to 60mph then I sail by.

The chimaera, like it or not really is a cloth cap and pipe brigade type of car. I might even get one when I retire.

Happy Easter !!!!.

Its nice if you are rescuing a wreak of a car but its a tragedy if its a good one. The AJP engine is the only part of this car that makes it unique. A LS engine in a Cerbera will work well but its no longer a Cerbera. I run a Vortec SC on mine and have covered about 3k miles with no problems. About 7psi boost no intercooler totally home made apart from the mapping by Emerald. It reliably makes 530bhp. I'll be at the next Berkshire TVR meet in Bracknell. Hopefully you will all be there as well.

The trick to being a good troll, is that folk aren't sure if you're trolling or not........ Poor trolling is obvious from the start...
