You will need 3 brackets, 2 bushes (I'd suggest changing the one on the chassis)

I too spotted the diffs listed on eBay as the BTR in my 98 450 is leaking slightly from the output seals.

I'm also wondering whether one of these "new" diffs from Malaysia may work out better value than having my BTR diff refurbished, I've got a bottle of seal conditioner to put into my current diff to see if it helps with the leak as other than the slight leak it is pretty quiet and seems mechanically fine (car has done 52K).

What are peoples thoughts on the likely condition of the seal material in the Malaysian diffs, depending what it is it is certainly possible that the seals may have degraded over the last 10 or so years?

i would have thought a seal sat in a container would be less subject to degradation than one on a car,

for diff overhauls, presuming new seals.bearings etc, runs to around £400, and assuming that no new gears are involved.

Those diffs will be just fine fill it on the floor slosh it about to lube the seals fit to car do 1k drop the oil refill with some quality stuff and enjoy the seals will be fine those diffs have obviously been stored well otherwise they would be coated in corrosion and look st

Not changing the top bush whilst the diff is out would be false economy in the long run IMHO.

You also need to address the speedo... brackets for sensor if retaining prop drive (assuming prop doesn't need changing) or new speedo /sensor/wiring if using output abs ring on diff.

Iv`e not seen any brackets for sale ,been making phone calls ,I wish someone would sell them off the shelf .

I think he was referring to making his own - but didn't consider this was a big deal having done one before - i guess with diff this would be a costly option though
