Any suggestions on what to use as adhesive for the bonnet heat shield? I tried carpet adhesive spray but it has come off again...

I suspect tiger seal / sikaflex will be a problem if you ever want to clean it all off.

I used this, been fine for a couple of years now.

Easier solution no mess can do it without needing another pair of hands

NO MORE NAILS the Tape it cures with the heat too and just will not come off.

had mine held on now for 6 years

easy fix no mess no smell of glue

Will try no nails and some small area patch up near and below rear of ex manifold with some cheepo Ali oven tray stuff from tesco. Can be fed through from underneath between chassis rail and existing remains of patchy heat shield.

He important thing is prepping the surfaces correctly and clamping the parts together till it sets. Take the bonnet off and rest it upside down on a duvet for best results.

I had the same problem last year I got 'HEAVY DUTY HIGH TEMPERATURE CONTACT ADHESIVE GLUE 1ltr' from ' waysideadhesives66' on eBay last year. It did the trick...

Here's the current listing

Being a contact glue meant it was easy for me to prepare the surfaces (basically clean), cover the two surfaces in glue and wait a bit. Once good and tacky I pressed the heat shield against the underside of the bonnet and job done. I let the glue cure overnight and have not needed to do any more.

This is why I love P.heads. :-)
