Most likely culprit is the rubber boot seal itself. Get into the boot with a torch and get someone to hose it down. Just dont light a match when your in there wink

Cheers AV8, prob best I put the missus in the boot with the torch as I'm not sure she would let me out , I see Racing Green do a new boot speak / rubber for about £20 so not over priced.

Also, if you have the early model with the backlit number plate, the water can get in behind there and run through the lamp fittings. Another entry point it the rear light cluster covers.

Another possibility is the seal around the filler cap. If the sealant is going water can get in there and down the outside of the filler.

I think it's a petrol leak Rodney but it's too dark to see. Pass me those matches will you.

Yep I've had this, its fine unless parked facing down hill then run's in behind the number plate

Other possibles are the bolts and screws that go through the bodywork in the rain channel to hold the gas struts and the boot catch. Check these are sealed.

Oooooooh I say matron,, so many areas the water can enter, I guess I'll change the boot rubber first , only £4:19p a meter from Racing Green and go from there, thanks for all the info lads at least I know what to do if it's not the rubber

I have a steamy light and I asked my wife to do this, but she said she didn't fancy it in the rear...
