Yes agree. Sagriff knew how to drive his standard Griff. He said he did not rev before take off to limit wheel spin, just drop clutch and full throttle.

[quote=phazed]Just a note for the future if you want a little more speed then that's entirely possible.

A few years ago on track, my tweaked 5.0 chim was practically identical performance as a mates T350 4.0RR.

Different delivery but similar outcome.[/quote

I was speaking to a guy from Zimotorsport(cant do links) today.Seems to know his stuff,he loves TVRs,his sister had a Griff.Told him what I was after and he told me to book the car in.Put it on the rolling road and he will tweek the ecu or put an aftermarket one in.Also he would do a full geo set up while it was there.Seems a good start I think.

Decided to keep the Chim,i keep looking at it and thinking I must be mad to get rid of it.If I didn't get on with a Tamora,i would be hard pushed to find another Chim in as good condition as mine, for the money I was going to let it go for.So its a keeper. Thanks for all the input guys.

Does that mean mine is quicker then a 4l Tuscan ? I took Longbaz easy peasy even with an head start .

Quiet probably.

I can't remember exactly if I had 275 or about 315 at the time.

Hi Steve,i would love a Tam but I don't think a decent Tam is worth £10k more than a decent Chim.So im going to try and refrain from dipping into my watch and car pot this year and maybe buy one next year and keep the Chimsmile

If you're N Wales-ish, this weekend at Ty Croes, the TVR Speed Champs are performing and free entry for all TVRCC members (are u 1?).

Just suggesting as I'll be there watching in my Tam on Sat?

Loads of different Tivs sprinting around the track - and a 2-lap track drive each day?

Don't agree with the servicing quote, there are so many indys out there now servicing is quite cheap now, but remember it is not a Mondeo,,,,
Ok its always going to cost more than the old V8 ! 1200 miles servicing is more involved ..
Speed6 must cost twice as much to service as a hydraulic lifter single throttle V8
plus you can service the yank yourself
