My 48cm measurement as previously posted was as accurate as I could get for the full length of the driveshaft (still have CVs on) so had to use a flat edge on either end of shaft. I don't suppose an extra mm or 2 would be critical for the length anyway (feel free to correct me...) Would be useful if somebody could double check - measure twice cut once... However I guess the key measurement you require is between the slots for the circlip?

If nobody gets back I will try and find time to bash the CVs off and measure up.

So....

Driveshaft lenght 477mm

First circlip outer groove is 5mm in from the end.

Circlip groove 2.25 mm (as accurate as I can get.

Second circlip outer groove is 36mm measured from end of shaft.

Distance inner edge of inner circip groove to inner edge inner circlip groove the other side 405mm.

Caviat. Measured by steel rule and circlip and circlip groove measured with calipers.

In a rush now - off to pub, but will double check all this tomorrow and might even do a drawing. Would be good if someone else could verify..

Hi Mac,

Sorry, prob too late for you been a bit tied up everything I own being broken, but the Mrs went out on the piss and left be babysitting so had some quality time in the garage.

I also found my digital callipers so got some more accurate measurements and put them in a pretty picture.

So to put this thread to bed....

Group buy seemed to fade out, so couldn't be arsed to wait.
The OE shafts fitted to my car [BTR diff'] are 22mm shorter. I've was led to believe they are all the same be it BTR/GKN/Griff'/Chimaera, but it may not be the case. Hoping someone may say, 'it's ok to fit as there is room' otherwise I have two unbreakable driveshafts for sale at knockdown price for cars with GKN diff'.
