I have purchased some Redex fuel additive, is it a big no no to putting it in my Chim or does it really help?

Thanks in advance, Gary

Now that is surprising - I think I may invest £5 in this Redex stuff unless someone on here advises it is undoubtedly the work of the devil!

I've picked up Redex now and again for £2.50 a bottle when it's on offer in Wilkys or Asda. Works out at about 2.5p per litre when added as described. Well worth it I think.

I've used the diesel version too on my old Panda Multijet, and it put the EGR warning light out for quite some time after frequent use.

If you've got to the point where there are so few niggles on your car that you're now pouring Redex in it for something to do, I'm jealous as fk hehe

I think the gains achieved were as a result of cleaning the injectors and sorting the spray pattern, so it probably won't be that advantageous to use it in every tank.

Plato mentioned that in the fifth gear film, once its all clean, it's clean, no point keeping adding it.

Not scientific! His rolling road machine may have been optomistic. He should have used at least 4 different rolling road machines. (4 replicates) Then calculated standard errors, coefficient of variation to determine the least significant difference at 95.5 percent result certainty. I use Redex once a year, anyway hoping it does the job and I feel better for it !

Try:

http://www.terraclean.co.uk/

Used it in my 4ltr Chim when i had it. Felt a big difference in response and smoothness. Cost £75 quid then-maybe more now as it was a couple of years ago.

A review of someone else using it here:
