I've been enjoying my nice green Chim for a year now, but its beginning to get a bit cold round the lugholes as my windows don't close properly...

I believe there's a screw I can adjust to sort this out. Does anyone know where this screw is and how best to fix this?

BTW Just got the hood replaced by Racing Green in Farnborough. Did the mutts nuts job on it. Gone from boring black to nice green to match the paintwork. Would definately recommend them if you need a new hood!

Yep it's here

If i remember correctly you need a flat blade screwdriver.

Before you go adjusting things, make sure that the roof section is correctly fitted. The centre section is located by a centre peg, but the roof can still be badly fitted which leads to problems with keeping out draughts.

Any expansion on this post would be very useful. I have a similar issue but never new there was a screw one could use to adjust things. What does this screw actually alter ? Would be very interested with a detailed answer to this as I don't want to go playing with screws to find I need a trip to Dave Batty to rectify the situation ?

Thanks in advance.

TDTH, easy chap. Locate the screw as in my previous post and turn either way to achieve the desired effect.
All it does is lift or lower the height of the runner the glass sits on, just have a fiddle you can't break anything (well I haven't and I'm good at breaking things).

A lot of crap falls into the door, so wouldn't be surprised if the gunk and rust has seized it. WD40 might help, but would it rot the rubber guides? Silicon aerosol lubricant wotsit would be safe on the rubber, but would it penetrate the cack?

Sorry to ressurect a dead thread, but can anyone point me to the picture in the post above now the link is dead, or describe the location of the screw? Ta.

Chimaera Door Glass Adjustment

Tools required:

- Flat headed screwdriver, torch, TVR Chimaera, good eyesight

- Wind the window down as far as it will go and measure halfway between the 'quarter light' post and the rear of the door. At this point insert something like a large screwdriver and push back the brush. If you look carefully (maybe with a torch) you will see the top of a long metal post thingy. At the top with be a screw thread. Turn this thread to adjust the top height at which the window stops. I believe it was anti-clockwise for higher and clockwise for lower.

** Warning ** Be careful not to turn the screw too much in case something drop/falls off!

Spot on, that worked a treat

The only thing I'd add is that a small wallpaper scraper is a better tool for holding back the brushes than a screwdriver, but still, job done and I'm happy
