I am considering changing the colour of my seats/dash to something a bit less gloomy. It is currently all dark blue but i am thinking of maybe 2-tone blue cream like i ad in my old range rover just to give it a bit of a lift
What i currently have

Maybe something like this

and also split up the dash to match??

Has anyone used the leather dye stuff i have seen on ebay and if so what were the results like?
Thanks in advance
Paul

Cheers Milkybeer, yep its certainly BLUE!! car was originally purple but now its dark blue but i think it too much hence wanting to brighten things up a bit. Just got to decide how to do it. Carpets are faded too so maybe a change there too??

I did mine and the centre console, it was surprising easy to do and gives a great finish. With the furniture clinic kit it's so much easy with a compressor instead of messing around with canned air. Also get extra sealant, the kit doesn't come with enough really and I should have put an extra couple of coats on.
Be sure to thoroughly clean places like the bolster where there are cracks and grooves etc, i didn't fully clean a bit and the paint reacted so i had to take it off, clean and re do

If you wanted to change the door cards, I used some suede type material from Dunelm Mills, it cost about £5 and another couple of pounds for some underlay but it looks and feels really nice so is worth doing

Thanks mate, good suggestion. the carpet bits in my door cards are very faded and discoloured (as you can see in the pic) so i will probably follow your advice beer

Yeah it would look nice with a different colour but you can get blue in the suede if you wanted, there are some pics of mine and someone else's here

If i went for the 2 tone effect like in my first post i would probably go with the following-

Seats- Cream outer-blue centre
trans tunnel main cream-bolsters blue
dash lower blue-top cream
door cards blue-inlays cream suede
carpets re-dyed blue with cream overmats

may try an attempt with photoshop or similar to see how it will look scratchchin

Cheers Rib, i do prefer the 2 tone. Just got to decide on the colours. Maybe considering a respray at a later date so will need to decide on a scheme that will all go together if i change the exterior idea

Carpets are even easier to do if you just want to bring the colour back to it, I bought some dye from an autosmart van the other day to change mine from green to black but if you're taking all of your leather out to paint that anyway you would be mental not to do the carpet at the same time. You just have to spray the dye on using something like an old window cleaning spray bottle and it drys within 20 minutes, wipe any over spray off immediately with a babywipe biggrin

Don't know what colours they do as I just asked for black, got 5 litres for £20 and a spray thing off him. Took 2 coats to get my green carpet to black on the bit I tested it on (passenger kick plate thing)
