One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Prov. Something that one person considers worthless may be considered valuable by someone else. Q: Why would anyone want to hang a picture like that on the wall? A: One man's trash is another man's treasure. A: Bob's uncle is always going through people's garbage, looking for old stuff. B: One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Prov. Different people have different ideas about what is beautiful. Bob: I can't believe Ted bought that ugly old car. Fred: He loves it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Jill: Have you seen Mary's pictures of her new baby? He looks pretty ugly, to my eyes. Jane: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It's his car, good luck to him.

Well said Alex

But I'm still shaking my head in disbelief, front Lights, rear lights, paint colour, roof, interior all OK but why the vents & wing

His taste his car eye of owner it's a piece of beauty

Good luck to him

But with that name at least put in a lot lot more horsepower my Audi would shame it

l understand from what your saying Tim, you yourself have done many upgrades on your sag and in the process of more? But you have kept with the superb lines of the sag. l would be surprised if you put a huffing great spoiler on your car, or air vents designed by BMW , but are you putting aston Martin vents on

Have not received my copy yet - so is it Supercharged? the Blog said that was his aspiration.

Don't like the vents, really not keen on the light conversion, I think that is worse than the wing which isn't terrible, but from a performance point of view given the nature of the Chim I cannot see lots of rear downforce as a good thing unless you have some similar extra front downforce, most Chim's I thought tend to get very light at the front at high speed, and this seems like it would just make it a lot worse?

I am clearly in favour of major modifications - but still with the vein of 'would TVR of have done it for a customer'.

Your is a million times better monty. Thinking of a colour change to white, I have a new navy roof which I think would look good. Not sure if I'd change the wheel colour though.

Not a hardtop - Echidna has a newly re-covered roof according to the text.

It just looks to my eyes like the hard edge at the back of the hoop has been shaved/smoothed into a curve - I could be wrong, but seems very curved.

Thinking of doing something along those lines to curve the rear roofline - the hard edge doesn't suit the lines of the car for me.

Wondered of the owner had done this, and if so, whether he had any advice...

I do hate it when people start slating someone else's pride and joy, having red the article he's put a lot if time and money into that car and he gets slated. Yet I'm sure if someone came on here showing how they'd got ne, stripped it out and turned it into a Trackday car that they maintained themselves would be applauded. One will be someone's pride and joy and probably be kept for many years, the other will often be poorly cared for and end up on ebay for spares and repairs or written off.

Whilst I'll admit I would fit the vents and wing, if he likes it then that's all that matters. It's snotty arses who put off new owners from getting into the fold, I've seen it happen within the triumph clubs and I left because of it. Some say it shouldn't matter what other people think but think about it for one second. Imagine you spend a similar amount of time and money on something you were really happy with only for people to turn their noses up and scoff at you. Not a nice feeling is it so get over yourselves.

l think its just that huffing great wing on the boot. frown. The colour and hood are perfect. But as you say the TVR purists as it were will be in shock, and to be honest apart from the SEAC , and a dodgy looking blue Tuscan l saw at Gaydon afew years back , that is the biggest spoiler l have seen on a non track TVRsmile.

I could half understand if it had been done badly and bodged together, as chances are that will end up as one less on the road. At the end of the day isn't that what we want? I really don't like trailer queen show cars but at the same time I appreciate that some people enjoy that and it's nice to have fully original examples, though why you can't drive it at the same time stumps me.

I just think some people are very quick to slag off someone and their car. There is a difference between saying 'not my cuppa tea' and 'that's fking st'

Or you could suggest what you'd think could improve what he's done, like the vents on the side look ok, bar the flat edge at the back, but if he had the back if it curve to match the door would probably solve that?

I'm not well atm so maybe easily annoyed but after seeing the triumph club go downhill due to such snobbiness the whole tvr scene will only suffer in the future

Wholly unfair to slag it off. Its his car and he's done a thorough job of doing what he wanted with it - good luck to him. Seems to me he's been pretty thorough and professional about changing his car and the finish looks excellent. Whether I (or anybody else) agrees with it is irrelevant.

Nobody dishes it out to those who super/turbo charge their cars, change the engines, add nitro, etc, because that is what they feel it needs. Well, this is no different. Engine mods are not really my cup of tea but you can go ahead and do them if you want, especially if they're well done. Ditto this car.

Let him alone - he's done more to his car, better, and with more pride, than most of us have. It looks spotless - which you certainly couldn't say about mine, or I suspect most of ours.

I agree with Rib.
Personally I don't like it, but then again you can't please everyone. We all know how many hours we put into our cars and all the highs/lows of doing this so I don't see the point in non-constructive criticism.

Jeez!!...listen to you lot!?!
I'm gonna paint flames down the side of my car...to go with the spoiler, wings, splitter, diffuser, go faster wheels, my "supercharged" Badge and air vents and drive it around to all the TVR meets, just to inflame you lot!
His choice, his car and...He's looking after it with a passion...how many of you can "Honestly" say the same of your pride and joy? Good on him...

Can I just say, I don't like the M3 side gills tho getmecoat

Sort of this, but believe me we do ALL get critisized for doing ANYTHING to our cars from some quarters.
Just some that spring to mind I've had;
'Speed six' light conversion I had - 'trying to make it look like a Tuscan'
When err no, I was matching the 'dog bite' vents at the front similar to a lightweight Cerbera of which is similar to a Chimaera, which is sort of full circle and nothing like a Tuscan. I also wanted to actually see where the road is at night.

Fitted Nitrous, first single injector then multiple injectors for each cylinder assuring equal measures for each cylinder via progressive controller and aftermarket ECU with two differing ignition maps, one for nitrous and one for N/A.
I had - 'NOS is for Saxo's'.

Complete engine strip/rebuild with balancing, forged low comp' pistons, roller rockers, etc, etc and a turbo pushing 458 hp and 554lb/ft torque.
I had - 'Must be st to drive'. 'Look at that crap nut there'. [both in ear shot] 'What's the point if it's not driven enough'. 'turbos are crap' etc.

Use of Alcantara replacing carpeted door cards, dash top, side bolsters, steering wheel centre. I had - 'he's trying to make it look like a Lambo'.
So believe me we all get done over for it, even by some of our own which is most disappointing.

But Mac, l have seen your car many times and it is in fashion with what Trevor, martin or peter, have l forgot someone? ,would have done, . The quality of the his car looks excellent, but everyone is a critic unfortunatelysmile.
