225/50 15 would give you the same rolling diameter as 205/55 15. Just slightly wider.

Any slight catching issues with wider tyres can often be resolved by adjusting ride height slightly.

My strong feeling is that you can over-tyre TVRs, and can confirm that mine, on 215/40 17 &. 215/45 17 Federals handles really wel, both on road and trackl. The 215/40 17 fronts are 2mm smaller in diameter than the 225/50 15, ie to all intents and purposes identical. I have to run 17 inch wheels to allow space for my brakes.
Thanks, will go with the Toyo's, although I will probably go 205/55/15 on the front as its nearly £30 more per tyre for the 225/50/15's for some reason. and £20 more for each 225/50/16's????

I believe mine is GTS Viper blue - stunning in the sunshine.....

Oh dear, just when I thought I'd made my mind up with the original colour then this pops uplaugh
That is rather lovely I have to say...Thinking mine would look bloody awesome in this colour too. Back to the drawing boardconfusedconfusedlaugh Luckily I've got loads of time to choose as the chim's back to Elmwood for a full 12k service and a couple of investigation bits before I go off and buy the wrong parts wink

I need to get out and see more cars in the flesh before making my decision....escaping from work seem the problem at the moment smile

My favourite TVR colour has always been Halcyon Yellow. It gives almost a matt yellow effect (not quite but the best way I can describe it)

The Macau yellow of my car isn't quite the same.
Haven't seen it but will keep an eye out. Sounds intriguing

Thanks for all your help with the tyre dilemma, got my act together and went with the 205's on the front in the end. For some reason the 225/50/15's were massively more expensive and took your advice about trying to over-tyre the car. Also though 225's on the front on a narrower rim would look a little odd compared to the same width rear on a bigger rim.
Went with the Toyo Proxes T1-R's, so hopefully a good choice.

Got a decent price on Camskill too, to my surprise, cheaper then Mytyres who I normally use. biggrin

Hey guys, apologies for the lack update on this.

As far as things have gone, I'm pretty set on Viper Blue, have finally seen it in the flesh so to speak, and is a stunning colour.
The Chim is still a looking tatty at the moment, as I've been committed to getting all the initial fault list completed as well as the structural things right first, so have replaced all of the wishbones, full poly-bush and new Bilstein dampers & springs all round etc etc.
Pretty much blew the re-spray budget with that lot biggrin But at least the car is safe and drives beautifully.

Also, the car has just come back from TVR101 for some more work, and also took advantage of Carl Bakers talents whist he was over too. Not due to reliability issues, but down to the alarm siren not working, so just got the lot done and hopefully future proofed any electrical issues.

Hopefully the re-spray will be done by next summer, although I'm already looking at either an LS engine swap or FI and Canems on the existing 450?????
Neal and Mac are to blame for this one. Was a pleasure to meet you both at the Neil Garner open day, and both your installs are incredible. A true testament to your talents, pictures simply don't do them justice compared to seeing them first handbow

Way to many decisionsbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Finally got my act together!

Went with Viper GTS Blue after much deliberation, and had the SP12's re-done in Anthracite to tone them down a bit from the bright silver before.
Haven't seen it in the flesh yet, but pretty happy with the look in the photo's.
Picking it up on Sat biggrin

Went from this

To this smile

Thanks matey. Pretty pleased with the result, as took me ages to get around to getting it painted. More remedial work on suspension dampers etc took priority than making the car look nice.
Will be great to drive without being embarrassed about the state of the paintwork smile
