How to deal with paint scratches?
Discussion
Just had a lovely weekend with a lady.
BUT she didnt start the weekend off too well by placing her luggage bag on the bonnet of my freshly painted Chim leaving a rather disitinctive but maybe minor scratch.
Would it be best to take to a proffessional to sort out or is it something i could have a go at buffing and polishing out maybe?

Chimpongas did a brilliant, step by step, treatise on removing scratches from paintwork a few months ago, when the local tossers scratched his pride and joy, and his car as well.
It tells you how to do the job (without removing your anorak) in such detail that you can just adapt it to the severity of your damage. I will see if i can spot it.....hold your breath

Also been recommended G3... any thoughts?
Hi Derek, I have had this recently and it depends on how deep the scratch is!, there is a load of videos on You Tube that will guide you. If you can feel the scratch with your nail then it probably wont polish out, Hopefully the people that did your re-spray will be able mix up a touch up pot for if they haven't already. G3 is good but can be aggressive if used wrong or on a thin clear coat. I would probably get a decent detailer to look at it and tell you how to remove it or watch him do it and get him to go through it step by step. Good luck and glad your weekend was worth the scratch..
