The difference inbetween 1585 and1605 is the size of the alternator pulley, they vary.
Yep witnessed this, Peter has a big one eek .......... on the 4.6 car! rolleyes I think it is AC related/left over with the 2 pulley sizes available, you can see I have not got much adjustment left but serp belts don't need adjusting if you pre-tension them correctly from the off nerd notice correct adjuster bracket orientation hehe
However I no longer use this size belt as I have a compact Bosch alternator fitted this uses another size belt altogether rolleyes

Mine seems to adjust better the other way !? Bolt hole at the top with the long bolt placed through. Long slot attached at the bottom allowing adjustment.

Ah right!!!, that makes perfect sense now, I'll be changing mine to the upside down (actually the right way up) Sardonicus method when I get back to Old Blighty.

Anyone remember what rose joints and threaded coupler is needed to make an appropriate adjuster?

My JE bracket is on 'the list' to get fitted this year...

... along with the Brembos ...
... new dash ...
... replacement lights ...
... diff ...
... new stereo ...
... Jag seats ...
... window/roof seals ...
... relocate battery in the boot ...
... new solid bottom radiator hose ...
... new radiator fans ...
... power steering ...

Oh crap ... the list is still huge! frown

I used a kart steering arm cut and shortened this had both RH & LH threads for the adjuster arm for the JE bracket (not necessary but because I can) bit like this

Awesome! Thanks!

I had been wondering how to get an appropriate length threaded hex coupler...

I assume you one rose joint with a left hand thread and one with a right hand thread, yes?
