As above, I think I have the non-PAS belt for some reason, which is about the size of one of the Roly Poly's garters. I was hoping to get the Chim back running tomorrow, but thwarted at the last. Please can somebody give a link to the belt I need, ie JE bracket with PAS.

Cheers, Chuffy.

7PK1580 on mine and has been fine but was right at the tight end of the adjustment range - so maybe a tad longer ideally (1590 or 1595)

Cheers Pupp. Will go for the 1590 then, seems the midway point!

There's been a number of lengths cited so worth a search (and maybe ensuring you can take it back when it doesn't fit!)

Measure what you need with a piece of string and go to a decent factors and they'll match up.

I've got at least 4 sizes in the garage.

what do you need?

If you haven't PS, junk the idler pulley, create more space and fit a short belt.

Mimes 1035 iirc.

Hi Christian, as per my post linked by Pupp above, the belt that worked for me was a PK7 1605.

I believe it the size is used on a 7 series BMW amongst others but just quote PK7 1605 and it'll fit your power steering Chimaera.

A 1605 leaves the adjuster bracket in the mid position allowing you to dial out any future belt stretch, which to be honest is unlikely as this type of ribbed belt seldom stretches much if at all.

Cheers, Dave.

You're welcome mate.

Check out that same post (& others) for the way to fit the adjuster bracket, the are a few options and it's become a source of debate amongst the pedantic here.

Post some photos of what you settle on, just be aware whatever way you fit it some machining (read grinding) of the adjuster bracket may be required wink

The difference inbetween 1585 and1605 is the size of the alternator pulley, they vary.
