The hinges on my chim wipers arms are knackered. I am assuming they are nicked from another manufacturer?? Anybody any idea where they came from?

I replaced my wipers and arms with the Leven ones. Not too pricey and work well.

Good luck.

+1 for the Leven wider blades - the built in washers are excellent and so much neater than the standard ones, which of course doesn't matter, except they are constantly in your line of sight while driving.

Yup I got the Levens too, very good squirt arrangement.

Be gentle with the squirty nipples - it's a royal PITA if you break one off. Shouldn't be too much of a risk in this heat....

Are the Leven wiper suitable for both the older and newer types of wiper? The design changed some time in the late nineties, with the later ones (a) parking a lot flatter, and (b) having a strange asymmetric wipe, with the passenger side doing a much shorter sweep. The change may have coincided with moving the wiper motor from the corner of the engine bay to inside the cabin above the driver's knees.

I don't know whether the wiper arms themselves changed at the same time. Anyone know?

The tension in my wiper arms is too slack, and they don't press onto the screen enough to wipe well. So I'd be interested to know if the Leven arms work with the newer wiper design.
