Neither of mine are working....The fuse that the manual shows also controls instrument lights plus boot, both of which are fine,
The switch panel seems to be glued in as it will not lever out, before I remove the door card to check I would be grateful for any suggestions
Thanks all
Rob

There is a relay in the drivers door card that is prone to water ingress. My mirrors don't work either, they've been hacked at before by garage/DIY monkeys, I've tested as much as I can without success so i'll be interested to see if you can fix yours. Good luck!

I'll be following this thread with interest as mine don't work either. I hope it's not an MOT failure... frown

Thanks for the tip ref relay...will have a look over next couple of days and get back.

Don't think it is a mot issue as you can adjust by pressing the glass

Tried for the fourth time to remove the door card yesterday.
No way can I reach the last stud.
Job for a local TVR specialist I think.
Hate giving up!!

Then dont! Stretch like mad or get a mate/missus with boney arms and get them to feel the wrath of fibre glass burns!
I dont bother with the last bolt on reassembly, it doesn't rattle.
Mind you, i dont like giving up either but the evil mirrors defeated me :-/

Its a struggle, but as you have to do it pretty often its worth getting the hang of it.
1) Remove Speaker Grill and Speaker
2) Remove all long sleeved items
3) Open door fully and sit on the floor as far back as you can facing the rear
4) Feed in your arm.

Unless your arm is very wide, or you are short you should reach it at maximum extension up to your shoulder. I am only 5'7 and no way skinny and can do OK. Getting the nut off with a spanner takes a while.

For refitting use wingnuts. You can them in B&Q in bags of 10 for a few quid. Can also be used for the dash.

If you are anywhere near south Bedfordshire I would be happy to give you a hand.

Cheers
Dave

Shame you are not up north. I specialise in door card removal - I truly am a human gibbon, can wip one off in under 5 mins. Finally my skinny arms which were the source of such ridicule in school have found a niche!

If you could do a 3D replica of your left arm and send it to me, it would be a great help !!!

Finally got the door card off !! (thanks for all the encouragement) It took 4 plasters plus 3 scotches.
No relay to be found but tested switch female and 12v supply is there,
Think the switch panel may be caput.
Anyone know where to get a new one?

I am now reliably told that it is the mirror ECU that packs up.
Part no longer available but Racing Green do a refurb.
Can any one tell me where the ECU is (not in the door and not under carpet in drivers foot well)

Thanks
