Quick update all new suspension, wishbones ball joints fitted nearly ready to go to Fiberon big thanks to fellow tivvers especially Pete for helping me get this far

TVRJS kindly sent me a video that had been taken by an anomalous car in front, funny what people do in their cars and what they do with recorded videos, maybe worth considering all of our actions when these sorts of things are about

Anyway I have looked time and time again, considered my actions and wondered what the hell happened, I am well experienced with Tivvy but just shows you can never be complacent
A friend today was told by an HGV driver that this area (A5 near Dirf Rugby) is a regular point for lorries to brim their tanks with fuel so maybe it was a patch of diesel about

I am happy to share this with you guys ( you tube Death of a tvr) its quite impressive but I walked away and its not the death of Tivvy she lives and will see another day soon

Really good to see yo resurrecting your Chimaera. Glad you managed to keep it out of the clutches of the infamous NorthEastern breakers.

The video is also here-

Also very happy to hear you are rebuilding your TVR, aside from the obvious she looks in really good condition.

Wow that video is an eye opener, fair play to you for sharing it. It really doesn't look like you did a lot wrong there. I don't normally think twice about planting the throttle on a straight dual carriage way, just goes to show these cars can catch even the most experienced tivvers.

The linked forum with the video says the driver was arrested for faoling a breath test!

I assume that's untrue and maybe the OP would like to correct them.

Intersting that the follow up message is someon else implying TVR drivers are somehow not to be trusted.

OP, hope you manage to get it sorted.

Are you unable to drive due to injury?

Interesting topic posted related to possible cause of yours "Narrow escape"

It was what i mentioned in my PM to you...The Down-force could of been the cause adding with a damp road and with you talking of fuel spillage that could be the 3 reasons added together why it let go.

Nice to you your making progress Richard thumbup

In answer to "failing a breath test" I have a feeling the guy who took the video may have associations with the boys in blue, not that I am bothered or interested.

However yes I was tested and was only slightly over the limit however I have been exonerated as not over the limit and no further charges/investigations are pending.
The accident had nothing to do with the above, it was merely "one of those things" and looking at some of the Tivs at our favourite breakers has happened to plenty of others, mine will be resurrected

Its interesting to see other peoples assumptions I'm glad I don't!!!

Good.

I quite often have a pint after a run in the TVR then tootle home.

The way that the 3rd parties open ended statement below his posted video infers something a little more extreme.

Oh, & on my commute to work up the M6, I quite often seen various crashed vehicles, no TVRs tho. Maybe they're the safest vehicles on motorways then??

I wasn't trying to imply anything Richard.

I probably should have communicated that via PM and if you would like me to remove my earlier post I'm happy to do so.
