Also very happy to hear you are rebuilding your TVR, aside from the obvious she looks in really good condition.

Wow that video is an eye opener, fair play to you for sharing it. It really doesn't look like you did a lot wrong there. I don't normally think twice about planting the throttle on a straight dual carriage way, just goes to show these cars can catch even the most experienced tivvers.
Chimmy was a cracker perfect original and looked after underneath, sharp quick engine, standard 4.5 but a flyer, luckily there was no chassis damage, a bit of time and money and she will be better than new

Proper crap quality video but the arse steps out just as you pass the triangular sign on the kerb, when the video car passes that sign there's a different coloured patch of tarmac right there in your lane..

I did consider if the LSD did something stupid, it was so quick, during the rebuild I may whip it out and get it checked...... just in case

well spotted, now you mentioning it I see it too, could be something like that, different grip level and maybe a combo with the diff work and or suspension reaction.

scary how such can go...you would not suspect such in a straight line not going that fast on the motorway.

Where's the 'like' button when you need it?

Well done Richard. Hve Fibreon said how long they expect to have Chimmy?

Hi Richard, I'm glad to see things going so well with the rebuild and you so positive. I know from experience how these cars can bite in certain circumstances and without warning. Diesel is my bet in either case.

Out of interest, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it take to get your alcohol reading? I like a pint or three sometimes when I'm out and although I feel fine and capable, I haven't a clue where it puts me legally. A love of cars and fine ale are uneasy bedfellows I know. I don't want to be opening a can of worms on this old one. PM me if you wish instead.

I like a drop but am sensible with it, on this occasion I had had 2 reasonable sized glasses of wine with food probably about and hour before being tested, I blew 43 in the car, was tested by blood 3 hours later and the report came back as below and clear
I suspect if you like a reasonable ale, as I do you are probably a tad on the close side at 3, a lot will depend on your tolerance, body mass food etc

Good guy there, when I booked it in he reckoned 2 weeks to make a complete new front, I offered a deposit to confirm my intentions and to cover his initial time which he declined

He opened especially today to take my car in, the front was all made ready, he wants the car for a couple of weeks and will be repairing/refitting bonnet, I again offered a part payment to cover works to date but he declined

So what more can you say, sole trader doing what he says on the tin, works look good on the new front, new mk3 lights coming as well

I believe the legal limit is approximately one pint of average beer, or one small pub sized glass of wine, drunk shortly before the test.
You are safer drinking it with food. The heavier and more relaxed you are, the better.

It represents 2.3 units of alcohol. You excrete 1 unit per hour, so will still be over the limit the morning after the 6 pint night before.

But if you have had two pints of beer or two small wines with a Sunday pub lunch at 1pm, you would be under the limit to drive by around 4pm.

Right, my P+J was Paris Blue, however I must confess it was not my favourite colour, following her major surgery she is going to require painting so its time for radical change
Have a scheme in mind which I reckon is going to look stunning, simple but very effective not a crass combination but a bit different, it will be in keeping with Chimmys classic lines but is going to stand out

Its a little way off yet as I want to prep all the under bonnet area when she comes back and then refit engine and box prior to painting, however watch this space!!! I'm quite excited
