WTF? Why don't you install some back seats and fold them down? Bound to make it faster...

Like I say, no-one actually measured anything apart from HP?
hp is airflow, so the outright airflow potential is very important. You don't want a 300hp engine sucking through a 250hp filter ..

A NA 4.6 motor WFO at 5k rpm will suck, at most, 11,500 litres of air a minute - that's not actually that much through a filter that size is it?
I make a 300hp engine needing 18700 litres a minute. based on the accepted wisdom of 2.2 cfm/hp and converting into litres.

My car at terminals at 111mph NA over the 1/4.
If i get to 112+ then i have some more power. Lets see what happens this Sunday/Monday

Yes Daz its this weekend at York. Be good to see you there. Weather report looks iffy but York isnt like the other tracks and gets cars back out quickly after a shower. I will be there camping from Saturday night.

You certainly have at least 20bhp more than me Daz.
Its your tyres letting you down. Get a pair of Mickey Thompson Street ETs on a spare pair of wheels and i think you could maybe join the exclusive 11 club.
Maybe i will lend you mine for a run wink

Sort of back to the original question.....but for those of us running meagre 'standard' bhp, is there an advised standard replacement part number for a K&N or piper cross filter, had a piper cross on for the last 14 years and it's well past its best, standard intake, 94 4.0l . smile

That's quite a long list.....
Going to get the grill out and have a measure but guessing on the sizes there doesn't seem much, if any saving from buying direct over ACT's K&N.

Yes but you can choose a bigger one for more air flow ,and they are cheaper .You only need the throat size ,you can go for one with a wider diameter .
