Decided to go the way of many Chim owners and bought the Act trumpets and SC Power spacer and gasket. Removed the plenum and saw a lot of lose silicon bits over the base. The four centre trumpets had been silicones in place, but a few of the trumpets were lose. Decide to remove the base and with the help of the oven removed all the trumpets with no trouble.
But on cleaning the the base ports I could see that there was a crack in the thin edge of the the base and down one of the ports. This had been glued back in place.
Question...if I fit the Act trumpet in this port would without silicone would I have a problem sealing it? What are my options?

They don`t glue in with silicone .But on cleaning the the base ports I could see that there was a crack in the thin edge of the the base and down one of the ports. This had been glued back in place.

Thanks for the reply. The silicon was smothered around the top base/ trumpet. Also at the bottom of the trumpet the glue look different in colour to the others. I'm just worried that if I use the Act trumpets they won't make a good seal. Perhaps that's why someone decided to black silicon them in.
