There is light!
So as many of you had said, there is indeed a light in the hoop. It has three positions. I didn't get round to seeing what happened in each of the three, although its pretty clear one will be on, the other will be off, and the thrid will be on with doors!
My alarm was playing silly buggers last night while I was playing Poker at the Pub. I think I must have either unlocked it and not disabled the immobiliser while my buddies had a gander inside, or I must not of properly shut of the doors. Either way after the 3rd or 4th time of it going off (despite me locking and unlocking it at least once), during the poker break I took it for a quick spin up and down the road then parked up again. Opened and closed both doors and the boot and locked it. It was fine after that!

If your car has an aftermarket alarm, it may have been connected to the interior light circuit as a shortcut, but disconnecting the light in the process, because if you turn the light manually you would set the alarm off.
Does the interior central locking button work ? That,s another shortcut for a new alarm.
The wiring on these cars can be quite difficult to fathom unless they are one of the few experts that are about.
Mine has the 'Meta' (I think thats what it is called) immobilser upgrade and fob. It unlocks from the button on the fob or from the button inside fine.Does the interior central locking button work ? That,s another shortcut for a new alarm.

I did find the light yesterday and it looked to be in an off position. I didn't bother playing with it Yesterday as I was in a bit of a rush, but I will have a look this evening when I fit some of my new Levin goodies!
A question for you TVR gurus.
Filling the car up for the 2nd time (since I bought it on Tuesday!) and I noticed almost immediately that the fuel was overflowing back out the top. I stopped, cleaned the petrol off, tried to adjust the filler and just went with a slower trigger speed.
Either I am an incape (perfectly plausible) or there is a knack as to where to position the nozzle. I don't recall having the issue the first time I filled. Unless maybe it was a slower pump last time. Last night, try as I might, I could not find a position where I could pump at full speed without spilling (ohhhh Matron).

Never had a problem filling mine although it is a slightly akward angle and sometimes the petrol attendent will refuse to start the pump when he sees you trying to fill your boot with unleaded-

There is a small flap valve just inside the stem so the nozzle need to be firmly in place.
The interior light is prone to failure of its automatic fuunction. Usual either a dodsgy relay (big yellow one on fuse board in passanger footwell , generic 1980s/90s ford item) or the door switches get sticky.

I soaked my left leg in petrol once where it was running down the edge of the boot lip and I wasn't paying attention. Now I put the nozzle in about 3" and fill slowly.
I've also had the pump stopped because they wanted to check I wasn't filling up some dodgy containers. Actually, it would be alright if you did have a load of jerry cans, they're designed to carry petrol. Big plastic drums aren't.

If you look where the filler pipe goes, at least on my 99 car (easily identified by the flake sticking out of the top ), then push the pump filler in as far as you can and angle the point, and therefore the handle, towards the other side rear lights. Then don't fill too fast, but with it in that position you can fill fairly fast.
We all manage to get it flowing round the edge of the boot rim......more than once!
