What I dislike is making up complete bks figures (i.e. him quoting 260bhp for a SC car on 4.0ltr) for marketing reasons.
If you read the article it says the car the writer took across the alps was 260hp, not that every supercharged 4 litre is that power, or that 260hp is the ceiling numbers for that kit .. just THAT CAR made 260hp."The 4.0 litre supercharger which I took across the Alps, from its original 190bhp and 210lb ft of torque at the rear wheels, delivered in excess of 260bhp with 260lb ft of torque."
Martin Pratt just left comment on Facebook saying that the 385bhp (flywheel) 338bhp (wheels) was I quote "20psi of boost on a 4 ltr on a max power run on the dyno" - and said they normally run them at half that pressure. So in no way a fair comparison, the fact were running half that pressure and getting only 10BHP less than theirs at 20PSI tells you something
As Richard said earlier, "we're all mates" so let's lighter up!
The fact that we're all striving, fiddling and generally arsing about enjoying ourselves sets us apart from others so let's just relax, (or shut the f*ck up as I tell my children).
Why oh why I missed the opportunity to be a diplomat I really don't know.

I just want a carbon triple plenum and a 308 diff , forgot to mention a "new carpet"The fact that we're all striving, fiddling and generally arsing about enjoying ourselves sets us apart from others so let's just relax, (or shut the f*ck up as I tell my children).

A 4.0 turbo will always produce more power than a 4.0 supercharger like for like spec FACT!!!
Just admit you wish you had gone turbo'd now lol
No, you wish you had a car that sounded as nice as mine and has actual progressive power rather than something that is un-drivable on a track. Just admit you wish you had gone turbo'd now lol

I take it all as light hearted banter (and hope everyone else does!) - I have huge respect for all the work that gets done on our cars, especially the Turbo + SC cars which is costing everyone way more money than we will ever get back! but importantly makes us all very happy.NickOrangeTVR said:

260 at the wheels, bang in the middle of what healthy 500s make... at the flywheel. "The 4.0 litre supercharger which I took across the Alps, from its original 190bhp and 210lb ft of torque at the rear wheels, delivered in excess of 260bhp with 260lb ft of torque."
Not too shabby for a simple bolt-on installation, and about as much as I'd want to subject a roadgoing Grifmaera on road tyres to without completely re-engineering the chassis a la Sportmotive.
(Of course it's different for track focused builds and something else again for those who get their rocks off at the drag strip, but if the goal is to create an overall better road car than the factory could provide us with back ten, this willy waving contest is becoming a bit pointless...)
