Mac, you're over reacting..... chill out FFS... wink

Engineer 1949 (Nicks Dad) is one of the nicest people I've met, and a top bloke... Nick clearly has communication issues, but then as a vet he does have to shove his arm up various animals rectums, so we do need to be a bit understanding wink

Anyway, I'm not being paid for peace keeping duties so I'm off...

Other than to say, beastie, NA God bless her, is going to blow a certain orange SC Chim into the weeds on the 22nd... And we'll do the same to any turbo Chim that has the cojones to turn up.. (or 5.5 monsters)

Chilli (Driving God)

Be afraid......I've had lessons wink

I do have issues yes smile - but I certainly do not mean to cause offence, I have repeatedly said how much I admire all the work that is done on these cars, but I can also have my own opinion on what is best - it is only a personal preference, and people are welcome to disagree + call me whatever they want, I have a very thick skin.

You see, you're all wrong.

Turbos and SCs are obviously crap.

I just returned from a very spirited drive in my NA chim and the impossible has happened.

I have real diff mounting clinks coming from the rear when I throttle off and on.

Now, I renewed the mounts in Polybush many months ago so I can only reach one conclusion, the immense power of an NA motor has chewed the mounts up and spat them out.

What great joy to realise that my engine in capable of such destruction, whatever next, prop through the floor?

Obviously you FI guys will see the light and bin those fancy hair driers and such as you see the light.

confused

Sorry mate, I may appear to be a grumpy old git but there are limits. I have spoken with Nicks dad on a couple of occassions and he is indeed a top bloke, very knowledgable, complimentary and I could talk with him for an age. But FFS when someone comes on here saying every other car is a pile of st compared to theirs, then I take exception. This thread was started about a Turbo 5 litre Chimaeara for sale [of which is a quality build by a long standing builder], not a slag off turbo cars thread. People look to these subjects in order to help decide whatever route they take with whatever means/time/budget they may have from a smooth bore elbow to a nitrous fire-breathing monster yet to hear Nick, turbo's should be thrown in the bin.

If I have caused offence Mac I apologise, it was certainly not meant to offend. You have spoken to me as well, I loved your car, its a work of art, I don't still agree with everyones view (it seems) on the characteristics of Turbos being good for TVR's - but thats just my view, it certainly doesn't mean I mean any ill-will to anyone who has one.

if you read back I actually took exception to the fact that TVR power were quoting silly figures for a 4.0LTR car - and things then got out of hand smile

Anyway - hence forth I will shut-up about Turbos

I'd like to know how this has been fitted with fuel injection. There are quite a few of these for sale.

Difficult to keep the manifold low profile enough to retain anything like the original bonnet line... Could probably be mounted to the side feeding the plenum. I did measure up an M116 for this but then decided turbo was the better option. Still like the idea though
