I sensed that the Chim was strong in you when we met at Sportmotive last year Tim
Yes, I have been eyeing up a few Chims recently and thought bugger it. Lets get one and see what's what. I want to get into track days and a Chim is about perfect for the track. Not too much power like my Cerb so I won't stuff it into something at warp speed whilst I am still learning.portzi said:
hi Tim,
Don't tell flip flop griff your experimenting with the chim owners, he will be thinking about defectings to us also;) after he has realised what he has been missing out on all these years!;) . nice car by the way.

Very tidy looking Chim. The side repeaters look interesting, what are they off?
I'd like to know too. Need to get rid of my horrible orange ones. They will most likely be an ebay special though but they do look OK. Back backing with clear leds (flash orange) and no covers.

I will take a look through the history "box" to find the receipt. It will most likely be in there, there are hundreds of invoices and receipts so one of them will probably say.

Yeah they look nice alright. I have clear Mondeo ones on mine which are nicer than the orange ones but not as nice as yours. They will most likely be an ebay special though but they do look OK. Back backing with clear leds (flash orange) and no covers.
My car is silver also. Is yours Stardust Silver?
Well it has been a few days since I picked up the car and I have been very busy - driving!
It is excellent. Really much better than I was expecting and it is a real credit to the previous owner(s). The engine is silky smooth and pulls very hard through the entire rev range. It doesn't shunt at all and I mean at all - it is like driving my range rover it is that smooth.
The color is down as "Silverstone" but I don't have the paint code yet. The reg plate is just stuck on the front with some very sticky double sided tape.
So two and a half days into ownership, about 300 miles driven and I am loving it.
I just need to find some time now to work on the little fixes I want to do, carpets could do with a dye, the petrol gauge shows either full or empty (once down to about half a tank) and the suspension (has some newly fitted GGP) needs stiffening up a little but that is about it.

I have Engineer 1949's prototype lighter clutch in my car, if you find yourself heading east.....
But I read on here in the last few days that a super-heavy clutch happens when the hydraulics are about to die....

Been considering this for a while for my car. What is the feel like through the pedal when running a servo? Do you still detect the bite-point ok?
