So, it was pointed out to me today that the stitching is starting to come away from the rear plastic screen, and since I am not that handy with a needle and thread, is there a good place in the South East (Essex) that can sort this? The screen itself is fine, nothing wrong with it, and the hood is also ok, just the stitching needs redoing.

Thanks smile

My hood was exactly the same as yours when I bought the car. The previous owner had even bought some waterproof thread to repair it himself on the basis of "how hard can it be?" All you have to do is line up the holes and sew.

The answer was "bloody hard" and after assistance from his seamstress daughter he gave up after a couple of inches. In the end he arranged for Monsoon to do the job in Lower Dicker, (I kid you not) East Sussex. The deal was done but I bought the car before the job was done and so took it in for the work myself.

I also know it cost £180 + VAT, which included £11 for a new screen! Why wouldn't you? This was 2 years ago but they did a fantastic job. Nice tight screen still, 2 years later.

Hi Just had a new hood fitted to my Chim by the Mazda hood shop in Romford, top job. Brian the owner makes all his own hoods and supplies a lot of the local trim shops. Give him a bell he might be able to help. My own hood had it's stitching repaired before I bought it and always leaked through the stitching repair. http://www.mazdahoodshop.co.uk/

All the best

Can you post how you get on with them as I will need to replace my rear screen at some point and would like to know how they do with yours
