Hi all,
Does anyone know how much hassle it is to retro fit power steering to a 450/500 chiamera? Has anyone done it and what kind of cost?
cheers

Are good racks still like "hens teeth" or was there half a container full in all that Malaysian stuff that surfaced recently?

I fitted Corsa B electric myself, following instructions on threads on here. If you need it done fast £1,500 at Lloyds looks good value. Mine probably cost £200 + time, but don't under estimate the time as the mods to the rack, pedalbox and wiring have to be done PROPERLY!

I've never driven a Chim with factory PAS so can't compare but it's OK ... my car has too much toe-in though so it all feel a bit lively regardless.

Epas is less intrusive, in that you keep a tidier engine bay, if you're into that.

Cheers,
Sam

I have got a spare power rack which has just been re-furbed by Kiley Clinton. It is an early Chim/Griff rack with a steel centre section.

Once you have sourced a rack all the other parts are available from the usual dealers. All the parts if new (except the rack) will cost about £400.00. You could save money by buying a pump on eBay either new or secondhand.

Nothing particularly difficult about the alteration from manual to power.

(If you have any questions I can't answer until Monday).
