1994 car with key operated alarm. In the past one side of indicators have stayed on but has sorted itself out when switched off and on.
Now the lights stay on. Indicators on near side ( not flashing)
Any ideas???

That happened to me too, 1999 car. After two flat batteries I was told by Carl Baker that it was the end of the road for my factory fitted alarm system. I had also had the hot start problem, so needed both the alarm and immobiliser replacing.

Had the entire system changed by the said Mr Baker and never had any problems since. He fits an updated Meta system with a boot release on the key. Cost around £550-£600, full day's work and I think he now does it at Taylor TVR in Kent, or at his home in France.

There has also been a thread started by Sir Sagalot in the last few days about having his system replaced with an Abacus one. Put his name into Search and you will find it. He is a serial TVR/sports car owner and a good guy, who has recently acquired his Chimaera. His Sagaris wants for nothing, so you can be assured that his post is not just some joker trying to do the job on the cheap?

ETA I have just posted on his thread to bring it to the top in the Chimaera section.

Happened to me too. Carl told me the alarm sounder was goosed. Unplugged it and no more issue.

Fixed

For anyone's info
Took apart alarm box . There are a series of relays that lock doors etc etc
By elimination found the relay that operates the indicator lights , the contact had stuck
Cleaned with tiny bit of emery. Job done
Total cost £0.00
Changed instrument bulbs to LEDs whilst dash top off
This is why I like the Chim nice and simple

Nice job thumbup

I've been told you can't do that with the Meta system as its a sealed box with the relays potted into the paired units.

But I'd love to break one open to see for myself.

Has anyone got an old Meta unit they'd be happy to donate so I could dissect for the benefit of the TVR community?
