Your part worn Federals will feel very planted due to the reduced tread and their design.

By comparison the increased tread depth and the lesser dry grip due to the multi channels in the Rainsports will make them feel floaty and the steering lighter, that can't be helped.

It'll take a little time for them to bed in and then they'll feel more secure, promise!

It looks like the grooves are so wide and deep there is not a`lot of rubber on the road .Are they an overkill ?

You are not going to be driving in standing water all the time so would something like a T1R or something like that be a better choice ..

I have falken 452`s ,think they are great for road use , the 453`s are even better .

How do nails manage to home in on your nearly new tyres?

This tyre has been on my SEAT for only a month or so; nail visible near the top. Looks completely repairable...

That is, until you turn the wheel around and look at the inner sidewall, which is utterly fked. Unfortunately it was a motorway journey, and by the time I realised it was too late...

I think i discovered why the 'floaty' feel. Just got in and checked the pressures.

34.5 lb all round irked

Guess i will take 10lb out and try them again

Don't you think you should return that extra air to them? With the comment "There We Are Then" hehe

Got Rainsport 3 all round on Tamy and they felt much better than the Proxes that were on her.

Did Snetterton on them earlier in the month without issue. No I am not saying they are good trackday tyres.

Roll on winter.
