As I said earlier in this post "there is nothing really wrong with the original set up".

Except that is for the rapidly corroding and expensive reflectors, so I'm talking with FH Lamert here in Watford about re-silvering my originals.

Actually my reflectors are not the originals, they are only four years old and already starting to tarnish, which just goes to show how short lived the finish is on these expensive reflectors.

I encourage everyone with standard headlights to take a really close look through the lens at the condition of their reflectors, I bet what you'll see is grey & powdery finish rather than bright & shinny.

When I get mine re-silvered FH Lamert will be clear coating them for corrosion resistance and a substantially longer life, they use a special lacquer designed to protect external bright chrome work in harsh environments.

Apparently this 2k clear coat system will not crack or yellow like other lacquers can, it is also very heat resistant so should prove ideal for our reflectors.

I'm looking at a group buy, the re-sivering & clear coating process could well work a lot cheaper if we can do it in batches.

Anyone interested?

With re-silvered & clear coated reflectors and my new 3200 lumen LED H4 bulbs I predict absolutely brilliant headlights that last.

I hoping for HID levels of light, no HID warm up nonsense, no dazzle for oncoming drivers, and reflectors that stay reflective for years.

But most importantly for me, all this while retaining the completely standard Chimaera look.
