Had to post this.
Just got my dashboard/radio fascia back from London CC and can't beleive the quality of the finish.
Stunning workmanship from Malcolm. I know many of you have recomended LCC which was why I approached them.
Excellent service and quality workmanship. biggrin

Good news.

Mine was done just before I bought it. I’m not sure who by, but the quality is amazing. It really is quite stunning. I do really like the wooden dash.

I'll need to get mine done sooner or later. Are LCC "supply only", or do they do the fitting as well?

I'd want "supply and fit" because I'm useless at making things look nice!

I got my radio panel redone a month or two ago by London CC and got the chance to collect on the way past. Malcolm did a great job and on top of that shows huge passion. Got a tour round his workshop which is impressive. Great value for money when it comes down to the time and effort he puts in.

To my knowledge London CC are only supply.
Took my dash out and sent it off to them after having spoken to Malcolm re. postage/payment situation.
He mentioned that each dash can be ever so slightly different sized instrument holes and therefore best to use the original. I sent off the naff one in a sturdy box (as Malcolm advised)as you don't want the "new" one damaged when returned - same box returned with and plenty of packing.
Emails from Malcolm informing me of progress.
Looking at it now and still can't believe how good it is.
Yes, you can certainly see the quality and expertise of someone dedicated to their work.

Yes here are a couple of pics. Meant to say that Malcolm also treated the back of the dash to remove any rust and then painted this with satin black paint to prevent rust accruing. He also paints the inside edges of the holes to prevent rust !! meticulous, or what ? He also explained about the various veneers available and the variations in colour shades. I went for a slightly lighter colour for the new dash as my interior is biscuit.
Hope this helps.

I've also used Malcolm at LCC, and can't recommend him enough.

The finished product certainly feels like it will last.

As always, you get what you pay for.

I’m trying to type this carefully, because I sell dashboard sets made elsewhere. I don’t want this post to sound like sour graphs; highjack the post; or say anything detrimental about another small business. This is MEANT as constructive criticism.

If you look at Skateboard’s photos the dash colour doesn’t appear to match the radio panel. Now I know that wood is a living thing and the colour can change on a single piece of veneer, so you try to buy stock with not too much colour variation. And you try not to use two different veneers on the same set. I also know that it’s REALLY difficult to photograph dash sets, because of their mirror like finish and I know the differences in colour might just be down to the vagrancies in my PC monitor and Skateboard’s camera and its flash.

So normally I wouldn’t have said anything, but if you look again at Skateboard’s photos; the grain on the dash is vertical and on the radio panel is horizontal and that’s not acceptable is it?

Dr Mike Oxgreen – Most dealers like to fit the dials/leds etc onto the new dash and leave it over night to make sure it sets; then refit the dash in the car. However, I know that Andy at CentralTVR and Heath at X-Works offer, a whilst you wait service.

So I would have thought your local competent TVR specialist should be able to do the same or you might have to leave the car there over night?

Another thumbs up from me for LCC.

Malc did my Chimp dash last year. Was so good I thought about putting it on the mantle piece, shame to put it back in the car!
