I have been trying to get dimensional information for these standard London Taxi headlights but my requests are met with silence

Go to a taxi breakers , pick up a damaged one for a few quid .eBay advert
Looking forward to knowing the dimensions. When do you reckon you can manage that?
Um- dont like patern parts from China either, but what could happen- oh they could rust, unlike the originals...

LED H4 units are getting better & better, check out this new 4000 lumen per unit version (8000lm total output):
I've decided to have done with the original expensive, leaky & corrosion prone Bosch reflector and separate lens system.
While the Mk3 faired headlights are an expensive indulgence, they use the much better, much cheaper, and way easier to source 7" headlihght unit which is also better sealed against moisture.
I've always admired the look of the Mk3 faired Chimaera headlights and there's no argument that they do totally solve the failings of the Bosch reflector and separate lens system in a stroke.
For the record my current 3200 lumen Cree LED units are devastatingly good, but Mk3 headlights fitted with these new improved 4000 lumen LED units stand to be even better.
"ChimpOnGas - spending a fortune finding the very best Chimaera headlights - so you don't have to"
- No fans
- Better shielding of light source
- Glass tube over LEDs to give wider light angle
- ETI LED chip which they claim is over 25% brighter than my current CREE LED chips & is specially designed for car headlights

Still working (slowly) on a solution to enable using the 7" headlights with the MK3 fairing but without modifying the body structure so its completely reversible.
We have already gone through MkI and MkII versions of a cradle using 3D printing technology and I'm just waiting for the CAD file to be updated so we can produce MkIII.
I'm trying to produce something that can also be used without the faired in solution i.e. using the existing pods which would be a quick and cost effective solution for anyone with failing reflectors.
Once we have the design I intend to pass it to Steve Edwards to make in fibreglass if he wants to and he can then use it for the faired in lights as an alternative to the Lupos.
As I said in a previous post, the challenge is making them adjustable from behind so the front pod/fairing can be fixed permanently.

keeping tabs on this as I really want to sort mine out shortly, mine are corroded.
I was thinking the same thing about the mk3 setup looking expensive at first but with it using 7" and being able to get these better bulbs I think it's something worth me doing. 7inch units could be used with the Steve E headlight covers as well couldn't they?

They look very good, if there is no fan, how do they cool?"ChimpOnGas - spending a fortune finding the very best Chimaera headlights - so you don't have to"
Also, are the really just 'plug and play' or is there more to it than that? Seems to easy that I can just buy them, chuck them on the Chim and that's it...... well, until someone sorts out a standard looking sealed headlight unit that isn't Lupo's or the faired in affair.

Or 2002 Jeep KJ headlights Do LED headlights not 'dazzle' when using reflector lights like HID's?
If not, I guess you could use these LED bulbs in the current headlights (admittedly, that isn't what Dave is trying to achieve) without going to the expense of a MK3 conversion.
Even the the MK3 conversion looks better than the headlights on the Mk1/2 IMHO.....
