Sierra 2WD Cosworth (original 3 dr) 4 pot cast iron calipers are a headache to fit and not worth the bother IMO

Well 've managed to find a place that specialises in Scorpios, £185 for a pair.2

Considering that some people find them for £1 on eBay this seems a lot!
found some 'scorpio' callipers on eBay but no way of knowing if they are the correct ones

If that includes the carriers then you need to weigh up the value of your time speant sourcing a cheaper set against getting these and moving the project on.

I think the fabled £1 ebay purchases are the vast minority of purchases.

I think the days of cheap 887/888 calipers are gone.

1. They are getting like hens teeth and
2. Everyone knows the trick of fitting them to the Sierra hubs as an upgrade whether TVR or kit cars.

Nice! Blue stops better... now where do I get the correct seals kit? I have 272mm rear vented and 260mm front vented... someone have a link for the front discs as well? I want drilled discs!

I got mine from here as recommended by phillpot:

http://www.brakeparts.co.uk

The bits you want are: BCK6003. I cannot seem to select the Sierra Cosworth 2WD option for some reason. Best give them a ring.

Discs and pads I was going to eventually order from here:

Opening this topic again, Im upgrading to the 887 888 calipers and am deciding what discs to go for?

it seems the 283mm Dia discs are 55mm thick and the 278mm Dia disc are 35.2mm.
The standard discs of 240mm Dia are 58.1mm thick.

Measuring the caliper mounting brackets and then putting std disc and that bracket on the car the disc runs centrally.

So if i put the 283mm disc i would assume I need a 3mm spacer for this disk.
If is use the 378mm disk I would need a spacer of 23mm?

The figures quoted in previous posts are 1mm and 11mm???

I used Ford Scorpio discs (Brakes International part number BDS5455) @ 278 x 47.5 mm high which then requires an 11 mm spacer.

With two separate spacers (in effect two very thick washers) I got brake judder issues, swapped them for a one piece spacer (piece of steel bar 25 x 11mm ) with two holes for bolts and problem solved smile

Philpot

Why did you go for 278 over 283mm?

Also what pads did you fit?
None of the brake books give caliper No.s only vehicle!
