Why did you go for 278 over 283mm?

Also what pads did you fit?
None of the brake books give caliper No.s only vehicle!
283mm discs generally require some 'fettling' of the actual calipers themselves to open up their gusset to clear the larger diameter whereas 278mm 'just works'...

Wot he said, they fit without catching the caliper.

Bought these pads to use with my 888s, they lasted 10 rounds on a trackday before they were totally cooked! Massive brake fade. Someone have some other pads to recommend? Or am I doing it wrong?

Given the number of trackdays I do, my lack of finesse and the drums still installed out back. I would say you need to flush and change your fluid. I use DOT 5.1 by default. Although there are plenty of DOT 4 fliuds that perform as well / better.

Also, a review of skill sets might be useful too.

yep the fluid def needs flushing. I dont brake if I dont have to, but the chim has a turbo and very quickly comes up to high speeds...

has anyone tried cooling ducts to the brakes on a chim?
