Its occurred to me that whilst we have the 'post your dyno' thread (which is excellent) and individual threads about particular cars, we don't have a sticky/wiki with a table that gives 'at a glance' information about modifications and power outputs. Now I realise that a lot of folk won't be interested in such a thing but it would provide a lot of information for those thinking of modding and the kind of modifications that have been undertaken with the resultant power and torque figures. Maybe a number of columns such as engine size, type of engine, NA/FI, power, torque, and useful detail about the modifications, transmission, brakes and suspension. It could be sorted by engine capacity (starting with the biggest) or power output.....

We could even let the Griff girls join in smile

Anyway, just an idea, let me know if you think it's a rubbish idea.

(sits back and waits for scathing comments from Goaty and rigga)

I think it's an excellent idea to help people like myself at the bottom of the ladder decide which job to do first and ultimately achieve the goals they want with the cars they have, or even give others like me an idea of what modifying these cars costs.

Thanks

I think it's a wonderful idea to have a table that I, with a select few others, can occupy the bottom of for years to come without the slightest possibility of gaining even the middle ranks.

Bless you again Chillidog biggrin

This would be good. A table of mods for all RV8 models. Needs to cover:

- Approximate costs for self build/ specialist build;
- Expertise/ difficulty level/ time needed;
- Any specialist equipment or tools needed;
- Expected increase in BHP/ torque/ other benefits;
- Links to useful threads for each mod

Can be moderated by Goaty... wink

To make it more interesting, and to counter some of the pure willy waving that a table like this encourages, how about somebody works out in a separate column the £/bhp per mod. An efficiency measure of horsepower gain if you will. Something to aid the decision making process: I.e. what's overall a better spend, a 800bhp monster for £50k, or a 10bhp increase for £150?

It would allow some interesting insight into what is the most effective spend depending on the modders view of what is more important between cash and bhp.
